These threads, contrary to what you lot think, are for friends and likeminded (or not likeminded) people to get together, hang out, discuss interests, and connect.

They are NOT your private shitposting forums where you can toss second grade insults back and forth and insult people.

Vol, seriously, I know you're busy, but this shouldn't be allowed to continue. They are incapable of sorting it out on their own, put your foot down, or give me the power to do it and I will. They can talk about whatever wherever, but filling pages with petty barbs does nothing to keep this site up or encourage the people on it to stay.

So diplomacy failed. I will remind everyone that there is a Foe (block) list when you click on someone's avatar that will hide all of a person's posts from you. Which would be ideal for all of us, since we'd lose nothing but the fighting.

With that said, since the rest of the active users appear to be tired of the drama, I'm going to take a more aggressive hand if this keeps happening. I'm sad it's come to that.

Nah man, this means harvest up here is going to be worse, planting in the spring is impossible. This is gonna affect crops, livestock, water quality, and infrastructure.

We've already passed the point of no return in carbon emissions. Only a matter of time now.

Mammoths, Whooly Rhinos, even a couple of Cave Lion cubs this year.

On the other hand there's a shitton of not-yet extinct species that are suffering because of the climate change though. And there's the little side effects connected to agriculture, erosion, water sources quality and all the other stuff that people who believes global warming is just an invention of attention-seeking hippies like to pretend isn't happening.

I've read that if the models are correct, what will happen is that more of Canada and similar places will become farmable, but places on the edge will be unusable, since it's a shifting of viable farming zones. And then certain crops that rely on specific conditions will be wiped out if we don't transplant.

@Alien: Any viable DNA from any of those? I know there's word of a mammoth clone incubated by an elephant, but I don't keep on up on this stuff.

They've actually eaten some of the mammoth flesh, since it's technically preserved.

It didn't taste good. Freezer burn on that scale ruins the meat, but if we _make_ more mammoths...

It's possible, but there's no actual concrete effort to de-extinct any Ice Age megafauna species. A few rich nutjobs claim they wanna do it, and there's a group of asian genetists that wants to mess with the genome of asian elephants to create mammoth-lookalikes. But that's it as far as I know.
