Care to state your source on that because there is nothing about it here: http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline

Scientists changed the length of time in 2162.

Because if you read the entry for the date you provided there is nothing about a change in calendar.

Like TTTX said, Futurama joke. I just made up a year, you know how a joke gets funnier when you explain it...

Its actually what Shepard turned into after the synthesis ending.

Man, I can't wait for them to show all of the content and media material they will NOT have for us tomorrow!

The only thing I have heard about that is what is said in the article.
EA Says It Would Delay Mass Effect Andromeda Again If It Makes the Game Better
Another delay hasn't been ruled out.

Also, if that's all the info they're giving on N7 day, I'll be extremely underwhelmed.

The Andromeda Initiative is scheduled to launch. Privately funded and operating independently from the Systems Alliance, the Initiative’s mandate is to make a 600-year journey to the Andromeda galaxy in hopes of establishing a new home world. This impending galactic journey represents the most ambitious undertaking of any Milky Way race to date…

Aka, turian, asari, and salarian (turians confirmed by the devs, Salarian and Asari in the trailer). Plus the krogans sneaking in somehow.
Not wanting to be a Negative Nancy, but yeah. Adieu quarians.

"Begin a new future for ALL humanity."
Wouldn't surprise me if the Nexus is meant to be a super Relay.
This is VERY CLEARLY taking place after the Reaper War. Seriously, look at the scale of that thing to the Ark ships, which already dwarf Alliance Dreadnoughts. And now we have long range sensors that can detect planet habitability in Andromeda? Shit.
Alienmorph wrote:All the Arks AND the Nexus look like Citadels 2.0.
So either someone retro-engineered the Citadel and built a fleet of them OFF-SCREEN during the events of the original series, or it IS post-ME3 AND post-Destroy Ending, so there's that at least.

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT
Riptide wrote:Yeah, that was way too much buildup for very little payoff. We learned nothing about the new setting that wasn't discerned from the Reddit leak way back when, no new gameplay, nothing about the story other than we go to Andromeda and get our shit kicked in.
Major takeaways I noticed:
- It looks like Papa Ryder kicks it early in the game when the Hyperion is attacked, and you have to step in and fill his shoes as the new Pathfinder/N7.
- Reapers. Seriously. That one tentacled thing in the sky? That's a Reaper. Or in some way associated with the Reapers. Either that, or Bioware's art department are incapable of making new things with a different design language. Seriously. Look at it.
- Protheans. God damned protheans. That guy in the trailer we don't see but hear talking sounds almost EXACTLY like Javik. Hell, it might actually BE Javik. In any event, no way it's a coincidence. Seems that the Remnant might indeed be descended from the Protheans, or Javik came along on the trip, or we found and woke up more protheans or SOMETHING, but it's looking like that race isn't as dead as we thought it was.
- Khet. Looks like that one guy who claimed to be a beta tester and said that these guys are a cross between Vorcha and Collectors was dead on. We don't see their faces dead on, but there's a screen where you do, and he's pretty much exactly right. Looks like their leader is going to be our new Saren, only this time we're the ones being hunted?
- "Our dreams of peace were shattered." Okay, what does that mean? Did you leave in the middle of the Reaper war? Was there some other war that followed we don't know about? Were you all burnt out after the invasion and decided to find somewhere else to live? God dammit, I would like some fucking context for these random things you're saying. It's been nearly five years, I feel a bit entitled.
All in all, we didn't learn anything new. Just more stuff to guess at.
I also don't like the design of the new Khet. Look more like something you'd see in Gears of War, or some other Unreal based game where everything was made in Zbrush. Looks amateurishly organic, really clashes with the rest of the game's art style. Maybe that's the point.
*Sigh.*
I was hoping for more.

Scroll to the very bottom and you'll see it.
Andromeda Initiative launches in 2185.
During the events of ME2, one year before the Reaper Invasion.
God.
Fucking.
Dammit.
