Can i get you a katana to go with that edge-lord, lord of the edge?

They ARE giving us melee weapons including hammers and swords in this game.
So yes. Though I prefer the omni-blade. White hot diamond that shatters into pieces inside of the enemy's body. Mm. That's the kind of pain I can get behind inflicting.

I recruited Grunt and opened his tank. Decided to not take any Paragon or renegade choices and ended up shooting him several times. Now when I talk to him there's blood dripping out his mouth. Has anyone here ever done that before?

Yup. Then again, it was just the Shuriken if I remember things correctly. That thing's harmless.

That guns the murder knife of the mass effect universe.
Its precisely as deadly as it needs to be in any given plot device.

What, are gay people and black people having a war?
Well don't quote me on it, since I'm not a brotha, but the perception I get is that being gay doesn't go over well with the pop culture version of urban black culture that's getting marketed all over the place. Being on the down-low and all that.
So my point being, Liam should love the dick and I'd give props to Bioware.
Riptide wrote:I just really want the option to play an uber edgy Ryder who knows no love but the sound a Kett's carapace makes when penetrated by magnesium coated incendiary rounds.
"Wait for it, and you'll hear the pop."
I'm trying to think of the last game I've played that you could really choose the voice of your character. Tyranny did it well. Pillars, to a lesser extent. I suppose DA:I would count, at least when it came to some dialogue. Other places, the railroading into going along with the plot/lecture pissed me off, but hey. Assets are expensive.

Ryder: I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.

[[ "Two of your starting squad mates will be Liam and Cora, who both signed up to be part of the Pathfinder team on the Ark Hyperion. Liam has already made a name for himself in the Milky Way as a security specialist, with expertise in crisis response, while Cora has had the unique experience of training with the asari matriarchs. Along with Alec, Scott, and Sara Ryder, they form the core of the Pathfinder team, and will be vital companions as you touch down on the Nexus for the first time.
Unlike Liam and Cora, your other squad mates, like Vetra, Peebee, and Drack, have traveled to Andromeda long before your arrival. Vetra, who is already onboard the Nexus, has found that family ties are more important than venturing deeper into the galaxy. Neither Peebee nor Drack were part of the initial Pathfinder team, and while you’ll find Peebee to be a free spirit with a penchant for alien civilizations, you’ll come to know Drack as an aged and grizzled veteran, even by krogan standards.
Of course, you’ll encounter a number of other companions as you traverse Andromeda in search of humanity’s new home, and will put your trust in others like Kallo Jath, your salarian pilot. Among other accomplishments, Kallo was one of the engineers who built the Tempest in its Milky Way construction, and knows the ship inside and out." ]]

Same here.
Don't know how to feel about the characters. So hopefully I will like them when I finally get to play with them.
Like I have a feeling that I'll love Cora and I'm going to hate Pebe but that's about it.

A lot of bait in that video, I don't really care about it being P2P. It being uncapped is as to be expected, hopefully the cutscenes aren't capped like DA:I.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)

Ryder punching Liam.

Drack attacking a female turian; is that Vetra?

Well, that happens with trailers these days. The hacks that make them think it's cool to rapid cut everything and essentially forcing anyone who wants any amount of details to slow everything down and watch it shot by shot.
I think it's obnoxious more than anything.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
And I really am getting really pissed at how I could of had a fucking asari commando on my team, and now that I do it's a fucking human.
But instead, it looks like the asari on the squad is Liara 2.0.

PeeBee looks like Liara if she had a quirky quarian street girl's personality.
Which makes NOT liking her even more, because it's like she's meant to replace two charactes in one swoop, rather than being her own.

Shes the offspring of Sera and Liara. I cant think of someone id want on my team less.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
It just pisses me off. Unlike most people, I LIKE the idea behind the asari, I just think we're very rarely presented with compelling examples of them, or worse, botched examples of stuff that could of been great but isn't. I've been asking for an asari commando on the squad since ME1.
And it's a fucking. Human. WHICH IS PROBABLY CONNECTED TO CERBERUS GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I HATE EVERYTHING.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
The asari are... okay. It's very blatant that they exist just to be walking fanservice, but I've seen characters even more blatant in that regard that manage to be likeable, or at least interesting. Giving us a Liara 2.0. with a lame DA character's personality, and giving the cool asari backstory to an HUMAN, is not the way to go, tho...
And I'll believe someone who's an ender-ish mentor figure, who's last name is Harper, in a story co-written by Mac Walters DOESN'T have any tie with Cerberus when I see it.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
I personally enjoyed the idea of the asari, a straight up fan-service race that functions as the elves of the setting. Pretty blue all-women, can mate with everyone, sensual, long lived, "magic" powers, and you can bang a good few. Completely fine and fitting, even got some great characters from that formula. The humbling of ME3 was cathartic though, I'll admit.
But I'm getting a vibe that there's going to be some ~subversion~ in ME4. Even if PeeBee isn't actually similar to Sera in character, she might fulfill the same role as the total counterpoint to the norm with her species.

You dont need to speculate on that.
Mac Walters has said those exact words.
Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
TheodoricFriede wrote:Rip, she will have no Cerberus connection. Zero.
It's possible.
But Mac Walters is the director, and he's the guy that retroactively went back and made Cerberus have a hand in like, nearly everyone's backstory.
Hell, I want to like Cora. I think she looks cool, and any other time, I'd actually really like her general backstory. But it doesn't make sense for the time and setting. The idea of more inter-species cooperation and inter-unit service would work better in a post ME3 setting. And again, instead of getting a dedicated commando, we got Liara and Sera's love child.
Asari commandos are metal as hell. And we never get to hang out with one. I just want a blue space babe in leather to blow things up with, who isn't an unstable wreck like Liara or a hypocritical rock like Samara.
And I certainly don't need another fucking Sera in my life. One was enough.

I dont know. I know that they show up a lot in UK TV.
Dr Who, for example, seems to have a disproportionate number of couples with white women and black men. Its not a problem, but its almost fetishistic in how often its done.

Black Brits have the best accents. Idris Elba and Estelle are shining examples.

Re: Bioware General (Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Other)
PeeBee's face reminds me of Summer Glau (River, from Firefly/Serenity) at times. I wonder if that's her face model.
As for Cora, I think it'd be cool if she had a Cerberus connection but (put away the pitchforks) it was extremely limited.
For example: Cerberus had a minor hand in funding (read: not in administration or production. A minor charitable donation) the Andromeda initiative (limited due to the make-shepard-not-dead-and-also-give-him-a-really-baller-ship expenses). Along with the minor donation was the recommendation of putting Cora on the team. The minor funding, plus Cora's arguably good background got her the position. The andromeda initiative is not infested with cerberus operatives (though select individuals might subscribe to their ideology, like those terra firma types), cora is sent alone for the purpose of keeping the cerberus idea alive. They know about the Reapers, so it makes sense that they'd send one of their best in what is literally an ark to another galaxy. Perhaps her loyalty missions could involve some sort of conflict with it. It could remain there in part, but not relevant to the main plot.
That said, if BioWare is wanting to avoid talking about Reapers, the cerberus connection fades a bit. Though the cerberus connection could still be there with her just being kept in the dark about the reaps, she doesn't seem like the kind of operative that would be at such a low level to have that kept from her.
I dunno. It's late, I can't sleep, and I'm spitballing ideas.

Apart from London, nowhere else do black people have a different accent really. I personally like the accent, you can be a bro but threatening at the same time with it.

Hmmm, I thought it was just a London Dialect, or just an offshoot of the London area.
Accents tend to just be based on area, with London being the melting pot it is I just assumed it was just an accent from London. I've met plenty of black people with my local accent. But apparently I don't have much of a local accent despite living here my whole life...
So, yeah, accents are weird.
