I sorta want to try them but I get let's say highly expressive when I'm playing a game and things aren't going my way. So I have been informed I'm not allowed to try them unless Theo goes on a 3 month vacation to Africa so he doesn't have to hear it.

I yell horrible, horrible things. Straight to 100, hard r's and everything. Been told it's shocking to hear coming from me. Then desk slamming, thankfully my current desk has better acoustics than solid wood, so it's more satisfying with less hand injuries. Used to spike the controller, less so lately, since they're expensive. So sending Theo to Africa for 3 months is also an opportunity to understand the ball of molten rage inside you and come to terms with it. Win/win.

I am actively trying to escape it and I literally just fucking can't it seems.

How odd. I don't watch streamers much, highlights on occasion, but I remember Genshin Impact putting me off for a while, because a naked microtransaction game being broadcasted like that is trying to sell gambling. Game seems pretty long too, but I don't imagine most streamers will see it through to the end. It's been weeks, something new must be out soon, no?

I have how gatcha games are accepted because it's fucking anime. No it's still shitty gambling practices we hate EA and microtransactions over.

I started Tinder again and got nothing but swells of bad feelings and memories from years of trying online dating to the point where after I swipe on a couple of accounts I want to toss my phone aside and not pick it up until tomorrow. Sigh, but I want to meet someone and I want to try getting good at this conversing with women thing, which I'm not bad at, but I'm not great at either. So here's to another attempt.

Oh, unrelated question: Is there a way to save a file format in windows so I don't always have to change the details when I create a new folder? In Customize under Properties it lists; General, Documents, pics, music, videos, etc. I want all my folders to display Date Modified, Type and Size. Can I save THAT format so windows always creates with that?

They completely nerfed override in the new Horizon game and it's quite annoying. Now you have to kill several of whatever kind of megafauna robot to get parts to craft the override skill. There's a timer which is really short. And the overridden robot no longer preemptively attacks other robots but just stands there like a doofus until you turn the other robots hostile, which you can't do without revealing your position. On top of this the enemy AI prioritizes attacking you over the overridden robot. And to add insult to injury, the follow distance for the overridden robot is insanely close so if you wisely retreat so you don't get stomped by a mecha T-rex, the overridden one will break off attacking and mindlessly follow you.

The way this usually goes is I override a mecha T-rex. I have to go wave my hands at the other mecha T-rex to get its attention. My T-rex won't attack it until the enemy has stomped me once or twice. I run away up a ridge to shoot arrows at it. My T-rex breaks off the fight and mindlessly follows me. About this time the override time runs out and now there are two mecha T-rexes attacking me at once. This entire skill tree is now effectively useless and I don't even know why they kept it in the game.

yeah that is annoying, the in game explanation I think is hephaestus have upgraded security since horizon zero dawn frozen wilds dlc, as for the the short time length yeah even if you upgrade the tree and extend the time limit it is still very short and you have to choose between defensiv and argessiv while it is overriding and you shouldn't choose defensive since it means the machine sticks to you and doesn't attack much.

Didn't even notice an option to choose between offense and defense. That may be my problem. Though I also intentionally put the settings on "give me all the hints and also fill my HUD up with 7000 information panes" mode so I'm still mildly annoyed they didn't explicitly tell me this somewhere.

it only pops up when you override even I didn't know what it was until I did some digging in game menus, it was either in the machine skill tree or in one of the menus that explains everything (and there is a lot of them).

it doesn't get explained, it is just a system that exist which is annoying, it is like the overide time limit it doesn't affect the mounts you can get in this game which is very few (4 in total) so imagine my surprise when I saw the machine (that wasn't a mount obviously) I just overitten started to lose said meter, I was like "wait what?" and had to do some digging in the skill tree and menus to get that explained.

From my vantage as a psuedo-hermit, it never made much sense to me how, in principle, forming a relationship on dating sites/apps was supposed to work. Sex, sure. But if the premise is, "millions of people search through millions of people, try their luck," seems to bake in some large assumptions.

Regardless, wish you the best of luck. A few days ago I was talking to a woman who told me that normally she feels uncomfortable around men, but around me, she feels fine. Which I took as a compliment and a sign I'm doing something horribly wrong.

This is the first release to include a variety of fixes, gameplay balance changes, and adjustments to mechanics that have been at the heart of discussion in the public space. So today, we’re going to highlight some of these topics, provide some insight into our short-term plans over here at Creative Assembly, and look ahead to our long-term roadmap following the update.

A FOREWORD…
For those of you looking for details about the combined WARHAMMER map (“Immortal Empires”), the Blood Pack, or any other DLC you’re waiting to see added to the game, I’ll note in advance that we WON’T be covering those subjects in any great depth or detail today.

We know these are important topics to many of you who have been asking about them; unfortunately, the timelines of these projects are currently in flux as we reprioritize our work to establish a strong foundation for the game upon which we can build. The game needs to be in a solid place before we consider adding new content and features to the mix, so we’re in the process of reviewing the release timing of both Immortal Empires and the Blood Pack.

When we know more, we’ll take the time to spotlight the cool new content we have planned at that time. Until then, rest assured that we’ll share what we know as soon as we have a more concrete timeline in place!

PATCH 1.1 PREVIEW
Here we go! Update 1.1 is the first of our large updates to the game. Currently slated for early next month, the build will introduce a swatch of changes across a variety of areas: design improvements, gameplay fixes, and fundamental changes prioritized and based on the feedback we’ve seen since launch. Here are some of those changes:

REALM OF CHAOS
The Realm of Chaos has been one of the most prevalent discussion points amongst the community, and we’re using this update to implement several bug fixes and gameplay tweaks that change how it fits into the mechanics of the game. This includes several key changes:

The strength of the negative Realm traits has been reduced by roughly ~50%.
Daemon Legendary Lords will no longer be burdened by the negative traits of their respective patron god.
Traits gained in the Realm of Chaos will now be removed when a Legendary Lord completes the survival battle within that realm.
When a player intercepts an AI Lord at the Forge of Souls, their souls will now be lost—forcing them to restart their collection. This should make it easier to disrupt the Souls race.
The “Protection” building chain can now be used to prevent rifts from spawning in the province in which they’re built.
The rewards for gaining Souls have been improved by providing additional bonuses for a limited period of time.
These changes are intended to make the Souls race less urgent and give you the chance to approach the battlefield in different ways. We will, of course, continue to adjust the mechanics in the future, but look forward to seeing how these changes impact your experience as you jump in after 1.1.

SUPPLY LINES
A prevalent issue reported by the community: a fix to address the bug where the upkeep cost of the Supply Lines mechanic would fail to update after disbanding your armies will be included in Update 1.1.

INFANTRY RESPONSIVENESS
Another noteworthy topic is how infantry units turn and respond on the battlefield. While changes have been made that should improve the rate of responsiveness to (roughly) match that in Total War: WARHAMMER II, we still have work to continue improving the AI behavior in combat. We’ll have more news about this in future updates that we’ll share with you later!

FACTION BALANCE
As mentioned previously, the team will be making various tweaks to the different factions based on your feedback and the win rates of the different factions. There is a fine balance to walk between how strong a faction is perceived vs. how they perform on the battlefield, but we hope to learn from both as we buff or reduce a faction or specific unit(s).

For perspective, here’s a look at the win rates in ranked matchmaking and the multiplayer Domination mode:

Here are some quick notes from the balance team as to how they’ve chosen the initial balance tweaks of the different factions in 1.1:

The Ogre Kingdoms, in general, are overperforming heavily in both ranked matchmaking and tournaments. We are making some significant adjustments to the units based on community feedback and our metrics.
Grand Cathay is currently (by far) the biggest underperformer in ranked matchmaking and in Domination tournaments. We think that Cathay is best when their army is large—such as in land battles—which is why we are increasing the size of all starting armies in Domination. We’ll be monitoring these changes to see how the meta progresses in the months ahead.
While Kislev is slightly underperforming in ranked matchmaking (according to our metrics), they seem to be performing adequately in the tournament environment. There are a few units that particularly stand out, and so we are looking to make smaller tweaks while observing the effects of other changes and bug fixes.
Nurgle has been doing well in ranked matchmaking, however we know they don’t do well in the tournament environment. We are also concerned that the slowness of most Nurgle units make them vulnerable to larger armies with ranged firepower, which can result in heavy losses before the Nurgle units are able to engage in melee combat.
In Update 1.1, we are fixing several issues with charges, bracing, and impact damage. We feel it’s too risky to touch the Slaanesh units without having a good understanding of what effect these will have, so we’ll keep an eye on things and make adjustments in the future based on feedback.
We are currently happy with the state of Khorne and will continue monitoring how they perform in relation to the other balance changes made this month. Our systemic changes should not be shifting the faction much in either direction, but we will watch closely!
What do you think? We’ll share exact details once we’ve locked them in for 1.1 and look forward to hearing what you think once you get your hands on them next month.

BUG FIXES
With every build, we will be looking to fix, test, and package as many bug fixes into the build as possible—again, working towards that strong baseline for Total War: WARHAMMER III. Update 1.1 certainly gives us the opportunity to tackle some of the key issues you’ve helped us identify; if all goes according to plan (i.e. everything passes testing and is confirmed to not have any side effects) here’s a taste of some of the key fixes coming your way:

ALT+Tab Crash Fix: We’re aiming to have a Steam Beta in your hands next week, and will let you know as soon as it is available. Depending on its success, we’ll bundle and share this with the rest of the community in Update 1.1.
Gift of Slaanesh: A conflict between the “Everlasing Gift” tech and “Gift of Slaanesh” upgrade will be resolved in the update.
Prologue Sticks after the Battle of Fort Devingard: Not after 1.1, it won’t!
Soft Lock when ending your turn after losing Yuri: Not anymore; also fixed in 1.1.
Crash fixes: Several crash fixes have been implemented based on your reports both here and with our Support Team. This will be an ongoing effort as we work to get everyone in and playing the game!
Shadow Shroud: Be’lakors ability “Shadow Shroud” is now associated with his unique trait.
“Corrupted By”: Factions will now be able to remove negative “corrupted by” traits when in a region dominated by their favored corruption.
Achievement Issues: Whether unlocking achievements the wrong way, not unlocking achievements at all, or unlocking duplicate achievements, we’re implementing fixes for many of the achievements available in the game.

This is by no means a complete list: there are plenty of behind-the-scenes fixes and other fixes that require testing confirmation before we’re comfortable committing to their inclusion in the update. We’ll share the full list in Update 1.1, and encourage you to continue consolidating the bugs and other issues you find into threads here on the forum, or contacting our support team if you’re experiencing technical issues.

BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE!
While the Assembly Kit is still in the works as we prioritize our fixes to the core game, we are excited to share that we’ll be aiming to release the mod manager and enable Workshop support alongside Update 1.1. We plan to continue expanding the toolset and options at your disposal in the months and years to come, but we hope this will kick-start the modding efforts of the community as we continue to work on official updates to the game.

BEYOND 1.1
What comes after Update 1.1? Well, this is only the beginning…

As we’ve mentioned throughout our posts, the goal at this very moment is to iron out the technical wrinkles, improve the stability and performance of the game, and adjust the balance and gameplay based on ongoing commentary from the community. This is all with the very specific goal of establishing a strong baseline for Total War: WARHAMMER III: one that supports the ongoing growth of the game with new content, new factions, and new modes for you all to explore.

Like WARHAMMER II, our plan is to eventually pair large content drops with regular game updates: bug fixes, balance changes, and the sort. However, we are also looking to raise our game above WARHAMMER II by introducing major patch updates between our key DLC releases: allowing us to address bugs, balance concerns, and other adjustments on a quicker cadence than previous games. All of this is aimed at establishing a more reliable cadence of releases once we’ve established a strong foundation for the game and its future.

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE WARHAMMER III ROADMAP
We know that many of you are eager for a long-term roadmap of what’s coming down the line, which very much includes many devs here at Creative Assembly who are excited to share our plans. We read you all loud and clear.

We’re in the process of pulling together a look at the year ahead that we hope to share you after the release of Update 1.1. Things are in flux at the moment as we rebalance the work on WARHAMMER III with future projects; so, once things settle and cement a bit, we’ll be sharing more about the year ahead and a general “what” and “when” things will be coming to the game. We’ll let you know when we have that ready to go!

I guess Immortal Empires is quite a ways off in the future, which means that TW:WH3 is probably going on the shelf for a while. Which is good, I don't want to burn out and not enjoy the release of Immortal Empires. I also have quite a list of stuff I want to play, including maybe another XCOM 2 run, or maybe even the Protoss part of Starcraft 2, as well as several more story based games.

Still, it's quite a shame that despite a very solid foundation it appears that the crew at Creative Assembly wasn't as prepared for the post-launch period as one might think. Concurrent player numbers already have collapsed and the dedicated Reddit is full of angry people.

Felt well enough to take a quick 3 mile walk to get more Monsters for my tiny fridge. Discovered that without a jacket on, my usual jeans are cut in such a way as to make my ass look exceptionally curvy, to the point a white girl would be envious. Thankfully found another pair, much tighter, but it makes my quads look big. Which is nice, given every guy I saw walking around had twig legs. Unfortunately, right as I was coming back in, saw a black cat darting past my uncle's apartment. Didn't see it go in the road, but when I looked over it was in the middle of the right lane, doing what looked like that thing cats & dogs do where they roll in dirt on their back. Then I saw a kid on a bike stop to wave away oncoming traffic, 'cause the cat wasn't moving. Didn't see any wounds, so spine must've been broken. By the time I ran over, cat had stopped moving, so I dragged it over to the sidewalk grass by its scruff. The speed limit on the road bounces between 25 & 35 depending on who's in government, high enough that no one would be able to react to a darting animal, much less brake safely. But that whoever did it didn't stop to see what they did, given the nearest car was a good 10 seconds away, makes them an asshole.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable. But I think that killing something that could reasonably be someone's pet deserves a moment of consideration over whatever fucking store they were heading to.

Breaks my heart seeing a dying/dead animal in the road. Like can't you clean up the mess you've created at the least, had to stop my car on a dual track last year cause there was a terrified kitten curled up inbetween both lanes, luckily it had only been grazed as it was near the roundabout that has queues at busy times, but seriously why had no one stopped before me? Ridiculous and cruel.

I hit a dog one time (coming around a blind corner on a curve in a 2 lane country road), but it had no collar and there were no houses around. I was going like 50 mph so it died on impact. There wasn't much I could do beyond drag it off the road.

Me and sister did stop one time and get this turtle off a road. There was a huge bridge (probably a mile long) that crossed part of this swampy lake near where I grew up and it had somehow wandered like halfway down this road. We were imagining like a box turtle but it ended up being a snapping turtle. She was driving and I had to awkwardly hold it down with my foot in the floor board while it lashed its tail and hissed at me. Fortunately, it wasn't a big one. They can be like 75+ pounds. Made for a good story at least.

Case in point. Of course, some people abuse dogs and throw bags of kittens into water too, while primitive man tamed wild animals to be friends, between wiping out megafauna for food. Makes no sense, sometimes.

Never killed a non-insect unintentionally I don't think. Mercy killed a baby bird, held my oldest cat as I had her euthanized, had hamsters up and die randomly, same with fish, a bird I tried to rescue. Don't think it would bother me much if the situation was a genuine accident, and I'm entirely on board with learning to hunt and butcher for meat at some point. If it was avoidable, and my fault, would be another albatross for the necklace, I guess. That and a lawsuit if it was someone's pet, people here are litigious as hell.

Gosh. Guess they make Texas girls a little tougher than Joisey girls. I wouldn't fuck with a snapper like that.

"CD PROJEKT RED has announced that a new The Witcher title in development on Unreal Engine 5. The new title will kick off a new saga for the franchise.

CD PROJEKT RED today revealed that the next installment in The Witcher series of video games is currently in development with Unreal Engine 5, kicking off a new saga for the franchise and a new technology partnership with Epic Games.
Today’s announcement marks the first official confirmation of a new game in The Witcher series since the release of CD PROJEKT RED’s previous single-player, AAA RPG in the franchise — The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — which won a total of 250 Game of the Year awards and was later expanded upon with the Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine add-ons.
The teaser image for the new game features a medallion, accompanied by the phrase A New Saga Begins. Beyond this initial confirmation of a new saga in The Witcher franchise, no further details — such as a development time frame or release date — were provided.
CD PROJEKT RED also announced that they will be moving to Unreal Engine 5 as part of the multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. Since The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, released in 2011, CD PROJEKT RED has used their proprietary REDengine technology to build their games. This new relationship with Epic covers not only licensing, but technical development of Unreal Engine 5, as well as potential future versions of Unreal Engine, where relevant. Developers from CD PROJEKT RED will collaborate with those from Epic with the primary goal being to help tailor the engine for open-world experiences, beginning with the development of the next game in The Witcher franchise.
Speaking on the use of Unreal Engine 5 for this, and future games, CTO of CD PROJEKT RED, Paweł Zawodny stated:
“One of the core aspects of our internal RED 2.0 Transformation is a much stronger focus on technology, and our cooperation with Epic Games is based on this principle. Funnily enough, very first girlfriend, first thing I ever said to her was my favorite character from Tenchi Muyo. Wasn't even a part of the conversation she was having either. Showing her my nerdiest, honest side, talking about an anime waifu, video games, wrestling, led to playing MtG together, little dates at the pizza place next door to the local gaming store, ended up spending the night on a sofa at her dad's house, "watching" The Naked Gun movies. I used up my entire lifetime supply of interpersonal luck on that girl. Think she's working for MSNBC now or something.

What I'm saying is, always open with your favorite anime girl, and if it doesn't work, become a hermit with me. We can share a mountain, but on opposite sides.

I mean the games are suppose to take place after the novels so they could basically do whatever as long as it doesn't break the lore or cannon to much.

they don't have to use Geralt or Ciri, they could use a new completely different character, they don't even have to use the wolf school since there is like 5 other witcher schools to choose from.
