Far and away my biggest thing is more info on Metroid Prime 4. Any details I can get. Stuff for me to chew on and speculate about. I've been waiting for this for years, even more so after the abomination known as Other M almost killed the series. That brief tease with just the title alone got my hype going, and is the primary reason I even got a Switch in the first place. Even a brief pre-rendered trailer or some concept art would be enough to tide me over if they're not ready to show off gameplay.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Smash Bros. A lot of exciting potential to be had.

I've heard rumors of an Isle Delfino DLC for Mario Odyssey. As one of the people who really enjoyed Mario Sunshine on the Gamecube, I think that'd be very fun to get confirmation for a summer release.

Aside from almost anything Nintendo, the majority of the AAA game market is dead to me and the smaller games are rarely talked about in advance.

Well I'm always "looking forward" to E3, but I has a strange feeling about this year. i dont really think it will be bad, but i think it will have an underlying weirdness to it.

I dont really know what to expect from any of the big 3. Microsoft seems to have straight up given up, Sony will likely show the same shit its been showing for 4 years and maybe Bloodborne 2, and Nintendo can be anything from a new smash and Pokemon all in the same year, plus legitimate news on Metroid and various other franchises, OR just a bunch of WiiU ports, OR some kind of insane peripheral.

Then you have Bethesda, which people have extremely high hopes again for this year due to rumors of "Starfield", but could very easily disappoint considering they have only not disappointed once out of all their press conferences. If they show up with "Doom 2: Mediocre Harder", it will be yet another massive disappointment.

Then of course you have EA, which is guaranteed to disappoint. I'm guessing all in on Anthem and Battlefield with, at most, a brief mention of Dragon Age 4, and an assurance from Casey Hudson that "We at Bioware love and respect our fans and would like to assure them that beloved franchises like Mass Effect will always have a place in our blah blah blah..."

Then we have Cyberpunk 2077, which has been rumored to actually be a FPS with rpg elements, which diminishes my interest by anywhere from 50% to 100% depending on how much of an RPG it actually is.

I suppose, good or bad, ultimately I'm not expecting any major surprises.

I get the feeling not even that much will be mentioned of ME. EA wants us to forget good singleplayer games are a thing we like and want.

Shit, in general I'm betting there's gonna be a lot of buzz around the whole "live services" thing. Thei're gonna try to convince us we shouldn't even call them "videogames" anymore. And just EA, but likely Ubisoft and Activision too.

I am honestly so out of the loop in terms of what's coming for gaming content that anything other than "consoles only for the cool shit" would be a good show at this point.

TBH at this point I'd wish Nintendo has a dedicated Western market so they'd stop worrying about Japan and it's on peripherals so much.
I'm not dropping £300+ to play the next sequence of nintendo games I'd like when my PC would do it tot he point of possibly running two at a time!

Oh, yeah and Anthem will be the final nail in the Bioware coffin.

More like they have an hard-on for the kind of persistent monetization schemes the mobile market is plagued with. Too bad they refuse to make their games free to play, like those are at least, so we're expected to pay 50-60 dollars/euros for something that's just a platform to spend more money with less content and less fucks left to give about the customers.

But hey, the investors are the real customers, we're just where they go to mine for money to make them happy.

I have never heard of Cyberpunk 2077. What is it?

It's a game developed by the same company that did the Witcher series. It's an adaptation based on the tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020 (can you tell that it was made in the late 80's?) and in the default setting, mega-corporations rule over the United States after an economical collapse. The players can augment themselves with cybernetics and such, because it wouldn't be a cyberpunk setting otherwise.

Pillars 2 is out. Game defaulted to 3800xwhatever resolution by default, which took me a bit to fix. Alt+enter to force windowed mode so I could get to options and manually fix. Gameplay is vastly improved. Full VA is hit and miss, though I think it'll grow on me. Story is more clear and concise, has Tyranny's lore mouse-overs to help you make sense of shit. Combat's easier, way more stuff to fiddle with tho. Dialogue's gotten more into snark, at one point I believe I had 5 options, 3 of which were being smartass. But it's much more reactive too, I've had more Godlike race reactions in the first 2 hours than in all of Pillars 1.

Unfortunately, I appear to become a slackjawed idiot if I spend a couple hours in the sun, so I only played a little bit before mindlessly browsing the internet and getting mad at the media for being existential threats to western civ.

Good game, looks like.

I am waiting until some news about who is/isn't romanceable is available as that will likely determine what character I replay PoE using. I had no real attachment to any of the ones I already used, and I started a replay with another throwaway that I abandoned when I heard the second had romances.

@Raga: Well, the first companion you meet after the tutorial is a very vivacious young lady, to put it mildly. So they uncorked that aspect of humanity, in addition to the general increase in snark. I don't know who is or isn't romanceable, but from what I glanced at of a leak is true, there's a "better" selection for lady Watchers with flexible sexuality than anyone else.

Uh...hm. In the save I imported, I served Berath for the final choice. From the dialogue, it did not seem to import the choice itself, as I was asked specifically what I chose to do during character set up. So I suppose if you consider declaring that you helped Skaen, say, at the end, you'd be in-game picking him? I didn't have any explicit option to follow any god, if that's what you're asking, though I can start up a fresh character to see if it's important.

Hopefully that giant lagoon in the background means there's gonna be an acquatic add-on/expansion too. The dinosaur roster they've got so far is fairly big and well-rounded up (plust apparently they dinosaurs from the new movie are yet to be added too) but I'd love to be able to grow some sea reptiles as well, eventually.

The girl companion seems like she's either designed to be his lady, because there's some strong similarities and implications, or her devotion to Gaun, thinking that's the only aspect of Eothas still alive, is going to be the thing that keeps them apart. Or it's a red herring.
