Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Okay so I had this random thought of a dream-diary. But just mine would be kinda boring.
So I open this up to anyone who has a weird dream they want to share, if it's NSFW then I guess spoiler tags, maybe?
I dunno, just weird, awesome, crazy, silly dreams, ahoy!

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Okay so I guess I'll get the ball rolling.
Dream I had last night (15/08/2017)
Kind of a mix between Hitman, VR, a smidgen of Assassins Creed or Mirrors Edge and the concept of being an enhanced human/human with an implant, or an alien being experimented on, or an AI/robot being run through sims.
In any case the dream consisted of simulations.
I performed 2 runs, maybe three as the last bit of the dream felt a bit disjonted than the rest.
The first run was a general run on how you think it could go, first I explored my area, which was this sort-of compoud-like thing. There were guards and other people there. The peopel looked like generic humans. They loked like they were behaving like generic Game NPC AI. So I walked around for a bit. The compound had a sort of asian-y spa look to it. As if someone looked at a hotsprings episode from an anime and filled in the gaps with bad hotel decor in places.
It was all very open for the most part.
Then I noticed the guards and I think the being/AI/thing I was "riding in" paniced. Suddenly there were two guards nearby, one had a pistol, the other an assault rifle, maybe an m4/m16, I dunno, something generic enough for this Maybe it wasn't even one but I attributied the likeness to it. Anyway somehow the being I was took the guns and knocked out the two guards.
I was now given proper controls.
So I thought I had control before. Nah, this was something else. I was a god....once I got used to it. I got a few UI-like elements showing me the optimum way to hold my gun by highlighting where my hands should be, where my head should line up, where my shoulder was best squared in to the stock, etc.
And then all hell broke loose.
I wa in the upper area, a coridoor to my left with a door, a bedroom to my right, some office- open area to my front and the stairs I'd just come up and had the two guards confront me to my rear. So I move towards the bedroom. A guy pops round the doorjam and aims for me. I slot him. Guy bursts through the door now behind me like the cool-aid guy, I somehow turn and slot him, pre-firing as I turned. Guys were running up the stairs, so I bolted, not through the office area, but through the door Cool-aid came through. Everything went blank for a moment and then returned a few moments later.
I was now on the roof of the compound. I had enhanced vision, thermal, night vis, x-ray, able to see tech. the tech sight was the most important one as I could now see a bunch of the "people" I saw before were robots. Hackable robots. Hackable robots that were strong enough in number to overthrow the seemingly infinite guards, or at least hold them off to make my escape.
So I hack my way into the closest one.
I get a vision-zoom effect and nowI'm looking through this other humans eyes. I can still see where the other hack-ables are, even gainign a new perspective as I could now see the areas outside the compund at ground level. I could see how close their loading robots were and they were very close.
So I hop from hackable to hackable, each time I leave one it comes under my sway/command. They revolt. Shit gets real. Massive revolution. A few hackables I take direct control over to make a group or chain I can hop through easily on foot to ensure my escape.
In the chaos I run through the compund and make my escape.
Run 2 was a little different.
So to start off the complex was set up more like a lab-complex. Many areas for sciency stuff but also many office buildings with computers and servers for projections.
I also had enhanced movement now. Wall crawling like Spiderman, free running, acrobatics, doing flips and shit. It was amazing.
So i made it in with ym new skills through an open window and started walking down a coridoor. I suddenly get a guy about 5 feet away from me with UI elements telling em I could replace him and gain his uniform. Not dress up like him, not take over his mind, but to literaly become him, as in my body is was and will be his body with all my enhancements included, as if he never existed and I was always in his place. When I relinquish control he returns to existence. I can still be made, somehow, but I don't really know as that's all I can remember really about the second run for certain.
The next two examples are probably from the second run but I am not certain.
So next I am still stealthing it up, this time in a new EOD operator suit (the person is the suit, not the big- old suit EOD Ops wear, just to clarify) and I am laying mines/bombs to trigger to either blow up big vehicles or to breach the wall behind the vehicles. So the bombs are set, I just have to unspool the wire about 120 feet away. Next to a strip of mines. A strip of shielded mines I can't see.so I dash across the road behind the roadblock, hoping the guards didn't see me. I am now crawling where I hope the mines are, unspooling as I go. Everythign fades to black eventually.
I am then in this underground office-y place, maybe below grounds offices/secret chambers/labs/wings of a mental hospital of old. So I had to get some target, I honestly forget what it was (you can tell I am waking up by this point) but I am soon trapped in an odd coridoor with A bunch of nurses on the other side of solid swing doors. I gotta keep quiet but one comes through the doors. I take her out with a quick neck break. No time to dispose of the body as the other two are making their way through. I kill one the same way but the third screams. I bolt, with enhanced speed I dash through the double doors, throught his store-room looking area, along coridoors and luckily dodging guards intil I stop. I am now in a warehouse-like area with big-ol' wooden crates just like in every stealth game of the early 2000's. I am hiding from one lone guard I could easily take him out, except he has a heart-rate alarm which would go off i f his heartrate goes down too much.
I am at this point given a third person view of my situation, as I finally wake up.

Well, a few days ago, I dreamed my mother was stealing from orphans. I woke up at the point she was rummaging through some orphan's dresser at the orphanage in the middle of the night. No clue what she was looking for.
I tend to have really silly dreams.

Ha, that is weird.
Weird is good though!
Weird is one of the reasons we're here.
If we can get some creative ideas from their weirdness I am all for it!
Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I'm sorta envious of people who have vivid, creative, or lucid dreams. I rarely have them at all, and when I do, it's all straightforward symbolism of the previous day or things I think about. Disappointing!
Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I kept a dream journal, along with some sketches a few years ago. This was back when I was easing back into a healthier sleep schedule. I had quite a few pages I found amusing or interesting. A majority of my entries were written where I was freshly stirred from my sleep, because the sketchbook was on my nightstand beside me for a few months. I was groggy, and my hand writing reflected that.
There was a circus, a big top circus with searchlights, popcorn, and I want to remember pipe organ music, but that may just be wishful thinking. I was a part of the act, and a part of the audience. I saw the show from high up in the stands, and I was a performer at the same time. I was an anonymous audience member, and the ringmaster. I wore a top hat and red coat, otherwise I would not have been sure I was the ringmaster.
Red and white stripes on the walls of the tent. Every time I looked the pattern was different.
The clowns were singing and laughing like children, but they blended into each other. The clowns were a unit, not individuals, with spots and stripes in every colour, but they didn't stick around. The acrobats, I think they were acrobats, but they looked like flamingos or squirrels gliding across tightropes and cat walks. They looked like ribbons before I turned around.
The lion was the star of the show, and I still can see him clearly. He was a magnificent beast, of great strength and size. Just a hair smaller than an elephant. He had horns like a goat, the sort of horns that curved forward and they glistened like wet obsidian. I was the ring master, and I had to make him scary. I had to make him roar, and he had to bite at me. I showed no fear as the ring master, but as the audience I knew the ring master was going to get mauled. And I was. There was no pain because I knew it would happen. The lion bowed to me after I spilled out of his jaws.
I can't stop thinking about that lion.
I have a lot more I may share.

I have very fragmented memories of it. But I think tonight I've dreamt of being inside Alien Isolation, or something very close to that. All I know is that it got my blood pressure going so strong that I woke up with my eyes hurting like crazy because I had ruptured capillars in both of them. Fun times
(and no, it's no conjuctivities or something worse, right now I'm perfectly fine)

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
One odd dream that I had (aside from that one time when I dreamed that my mother turned into a fifty meter long python and crushed our red Fiat Uno after a long road trip and then chucked me off a cliff where I did the old "fall until you wake up" cliche, all of which happened after I had watched Aladdin) when I was like 13 years old after I played some Metroid Prime really stuck to me because of how bizarre it was.
I was running from something along a road to my house in a pitch black night with one lonely street light showing the way. I was afraid. Didn't know of what, but I knew that I couldn't stop. I thought that I'd be safe once I could reach my room. I swung the front door open and ran up the stairs. When I reached the last step, not even a meter away from the door to my room, I felt a sudden, searing pain and I thought that someone had shot me. I spun around and fell onto my back, grasping for a wound that naturally wasn't there. Then I saw what it was that had been chasing me. Samus Aran. She took aim at my head and at the corner of my eye, I saw my mother's boyfriend come out from the living room and he said: "You're going to pay for all the ice cream you've eaten." and then everything went white.
I woke up and started laughing. It was so sudden that I thought it was hilarious.
Another dream that I remember from my childhood was when I visited a garage in some chop shop with my grandpa. He had his back turned to me, reading a magazine. I heard a loud clang from the nearest vent that was at my eye level. I removed the cover and looked around. Nothing there. Suddenly, a man wearing nothing but tribal tattoos, feathers and a loin cloth jumped up and started stabbing me. I yelled at grandpa to help me and he said "yeah, yeah, be with you in a minute". I tried to call for help again, but then the tribal man (did I mention that this was the time of my life when I'd watch Ace Ventura 2 on a daily basis because I had almost no other live-action movies that I liked?) cut me in half in the middle of my sentence and I went from forming a coherent sentence to simply screaming. I woke up with a really bad stomach ache.
I also used to dream about various cartoon characters being suddenly zapped to death on the moon and simply watching their smoking bodies for a minute or two. The last one was one of the Biker Mice From Mars. Think it was the one with the metal arm, because I clearly remember hearing metal hitting the ground. Then it just stopped happening.
I don't have vivid dreams like that so often these days. Either that or I forget about them after an hour.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Had a dream this morning that comes up every few months or so. I'll be a doctorate student at school about to graduate and I have no thesis yet. May not sound like much, but after having to rewrite my masters thesis three times I just described a terrifying nightmare. Usually I wake my self up trying to remember that I only got the M and never intend to be a PhD.
Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Finally had a proper dream. Oddly enough, it was a continuation of an older one, from many months ago. In that one, I'd moved to Japan in a nice apartment with too many windows, mostly focused on being unable to figure out how things worked and ended with an inglorious series of plane fights and airport crawls back to the USA when I couldn't get the money to stay. Last night, my dream me resolved to move back and have a better go of it. Same apartment, though it looked different, notably a little hallway with 2-3 bedrooms I wasn't going to use that looked sort of sinister. Ended up not leaving, but not getting a job, just walking around with some black weeaboos who were there for some reason.
Like I said, rarely dream, but man is the symbolism obvious.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
1. I was playing a game, like Human Fall Flat, where I had to guide my character through a maze and go over walls and stuff. Got to the end where there where two chambers that I couldn't get into, but I couldn't make it to the exit. So I figured that there are two characters that I couldn't control in the chambers that I had to influence someway. Somehow I figured out how to get the first characters to get into the second chamber. That made the second character walk up to my wall, but I couldn't figure out how to make him crawl over it, since I needed him to make it to the exit. I figured I could try to coax it by rubbing it's head, so I start rubbing it's cheek and it's ears between my fingers. I did that for a while until I woke up and I was petting my dog. Apparently my dog woke up and nudged it's head into my hand. I never petted my dog unconsciously in my sleep before.
2. We were celebrating something in an apartment by the beach. After the celebration we could see a large black cloud of smoke move over the ocean and over the shore towards us, from the fireworks they had up shore. We went inside and closed the windows when a big wave rippled across the water and tons and tons of ships from the fireworks show started tossing over the water and crashing against the shore. They were very large and one was an aircraft carrier. Like a tsunami pushed all of them and you could see the destruction as they sunk. One got feet away from our window when I woke up. It was terrifying.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Had a dream this morning that Kevin Sorbo was in class with me. He was telling me how difficult it was because everyone was going up to him saying "Hey, you're Kevin Sorbo. What're you doing taking a music class?" and no one was taking him seriously as a composer. But I envied him because he had a strong cause to work for; he wanted to prove himself despite everyone's doubt. Then I woke up to my ceiling fan not working again.
Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Okay so I just had a bloody Inception moment this morning.
So I didn't sleep well last night so I fell asleep this morning as I was trying to wake up and I slip into this surreal bloody dream where the highlights are;
So in the dream I fell asleep at my computer and started dreaming. I was suddenly at this weird ass McDonalds. It's like half inside and half the main street in ym town center.....I get something to eat and then sit at my table. Then these three kids, yet not kids (think Garlic jnr's crew from DBS but in like teen bodies, like 16-17) come up to me and sit down with me. Then the female starts trying to seduce me and fails, starts clinging and grinding on my lower leg like an exaggerated bloody anime shite, like Brock did in pokemon. I tell her to stop and when steals my phone...which is one of my ancient flip phones. I then see a guy from work and he hands me my old pin code to the phone (except it wasn't written as a pin code, it was some kind of puzzle) and she scarpers. At which I mention that was a burn phone by pulling out a "new" old Nokia 3310. I then wake up in my dream to us remodelling the flat and doing wallpapering as there were buckets of glue everywhere. I then get a computer virus and I spend all day trying to get rid of it. I of course don't manage and end up trying to get to BIOS screen to wipe shit clean. I then wake up IN THE DREAM and I see it's snowing outside, which is very weird for my part of the world. The virus is still on my macine so I go back to frantically fixing it and then I wake up for real.
THE FUCK BRAIN?!?!?!

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I finally had a dream again. I have no idea what it's supposed to mean.
I was in a mall, walking around endlessly, looking at the stores and people. Lotta stores there were just a barfront, and stores with them, with virtually nobody at any of them. Then some sort of Muslim restaurant with meme pics on the menu, then a Walmart-esque grocery section with vile looking meat.
So that's what I get when I have a dream after months of nothin'. Boring!

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I guess it was a combination of watching the Godzilla anime and a 'things to do' from Achievement Hunter (where they have to fight of hoards of Mantisi in Halo 5) video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNZXT5JOCKE
where in my dream we had to land the colonists somewhere where there were piles of ruins, metal and stone, on a small island on a foggy lake. From one side of the island these people/robots would slowly charge up the side and we would have to take them down, but they were nearly invincible and kept on killing us. Eventually I found a big ass anime sword with a square tip and would put all my strength into slicing at these things that eventually I sliced one open and we felt we could finally turn the tables when suddenly we were all killed. THEN, I was on a high school band trip and opened the trunk to the car and pulled out a small piece of metal that I remember looking at thinking "This is from the island. We all made it off alive!" then I woke up 20 seconds before my alarm went off.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Had a sex dream for the first time in a long while.
But it was about the situation that led up to it, rather than the act. Started with a cute, thicc girl, then another after who I cannot remember. But all the important bits were about why it was happening and what else was going on in that moment of the dreamscape. So I have a cute, short girl wrapped around me, kissing my neck, and my sleeping mind decides that thinking about property ownership and making sure I don't smell for the outing I'm supposed to be going on right afterwards is where I need to focus. What the fuck, brain. My worst enemy.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Had a weird series of dreams last night.
One was I was at some sort of resort with a bunch of Sergeants, putting corrective measures on new soldiers. It segued into some woman trying to steal my Jeep who I ended up dating, then the date ended with me looking like Dr. Venkman from Ghost Busters that opened up a door to an alternate dimension and almost being pulled in by pink slime skeletons.
It's been a few hours, so the details are lost to the annals of my mind. Fucking weird, though.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I had one this morning where I was flying down the 118 freeway in Chatsworth and saw an overturned Jeep. I pulled over and looked inside and the guy was just sitting back and reading a magazine, like he was relaxing in a tent. So I popped open the door reached in and pulled him out, he was pretty grateful. While we waited for the cops to show up we heard some people walking up to the other side of the railing and turned to see a small group of people wearing medieval attire with a woman up front who had on a nice looking crown. They put two small children next to the railing and played a piece of cello music from Game of Thrones on their phone while they presented the small children with some scarves in a little ceremony. I turned to the dude I was standing with and said "Back in my day, we had to make our own music." And I thought that was fully, for some reason.

Had one this morning where Phil Collins used to be a woman before he became a man and I was watching old videos of (her) singing "In This Cage" by Genesis. She had a really great voice.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I'm pretty sure I had a dream within a dream.
First I was supposed to visit my ailing...grandmother (?) in a retirement home. I had bought a bag of chips on the way and I remember worrying about the crunching waking my relative from their sleep. While I was walking up the stairs and passing all the other elderly sitting on benches along the wall, all of them suddenly drew out two handguns of different varieties (hard to forget old Wheelchair Karl duel-wielding two S&W .500 Magnums) and started to shoot in front of them. They didn't seem to aim for anyone at first and I had to time my ducking and jumping to not get shot. Then the bodies started to drop as everyone started to draw guns and shoot at everything that moved. I remember having to crawl down a flight of stairs over bodies stacked on each other.
A woman started to chase me for whatever reason. Probably to shoot me. That's where the details are starting to get fuzzy. I ran out and the sky was covered in dark clouds. After jumping a fence next to the refreshingly open parking lot, I saw my car, only it was red in the dream. I hurried to open the door and briefly glanced at a watermark text in the corner of the car door window that told me that I had to activate Windows by going through Settings. I ignored it and drove off while the woman was banging on the same window. I remember thinking that she looks like the stereotypical detective from different TV drama shows with that open tan coat. Everything was chaos because whatever gave everyone the urge to shoot everyone was spreading. I had to dodge traffic and car wrecks and for whatever reason, everything was following the British traffic laws and was coming at me on the right side of the road.
I somehow crashed the car (don't remember how) and went further on foot. Up ahead, I saw the husk of a house that was still on fire and getting hit for what I assumed to be the second time by lightning. Wasn't nearly loud enough and the house oddly still had its shade of blue (close to iris). I saw a bike after noticing an apple tree falling over in someone's fenced off front yard and I went for it. As I passed the burning house on my freshly acquired bike, pillars of fire erupted from all the windows and doorways and everything turned into slow motion. I dashed for some debris that was taller, but thinner than me. It wasn't enough. As the fiery explosion cloud (you know, kinda like in Independence Day) curved around my cover, I remember a burning feeling as I jumped away, but my elbow got caught in the fire and immediately grew a nasty red lump the size of a tennis ball with pale yellow thorns sticking out of it.
I had no choice but to keep on biking. Now, this is where the super time skip as I've forgotten some of the details happened. As I went through the forest near my home and was trying to climb a pile of logs like the smart man I am, I remember seeing a small (like fist-sized small), more simplistic, yet kinda cute drawn version of Frieza from Dragon Ball in the distance being overjoyed and shouting at seeing some of his friends or underlings (I guess) riding some camel-like creatures. They were drawn in the same fashion. This is where the memory and time gaps starts to show up, so it doesn't make too much sense to me.
I ignored that and went home. My mom wondered what in God's name I had done to my elbow. I told her and dad the abridged version of my story and apparently I had tried to visit the rest of my family in the south part of Sweden by myself. I did not know that until I said it. Mom wanted to take me to the hospital, but my dad took an over the shoulder look at my injury and told me that it was nothing. As I looked at my elbow, the lump had been reduced to what looked like a centimeter-high, brown plant stalk that was slowly retracting its way back into my skin and turning into a small pimple.
I told my parents that maybe it was just all a dream. That it felt like a dream. They scoffed at that as the thought of me riding that kind of distance on a bike truly sounds made up and went on doing whatever. Then I woke up. I was instinctively rubbing my elbow as I walked out to the kitchen for my morning medicine and tea.
Now, I can tell you where I think my brain got the ideas for these events in detail, but my story is already painfully long, so here's the short version. Playing Killing Floor 2, watching YouTube videos of FEAR, some British house hunting show my brother watch all the time, that one time I actually biked through a thunderstorm, watching TFS play Dragon Ball Fighter Z and...thinking about moving down south near the place where my great grandparents used to live. I guess.
It's a bit cool to remember these dreams in such vivid detail for a while, though. I can already feel them slipping out of my mind, so I thought I'd write them down here while I can. Maybe someone will get a chuckle out of it. Or recoil in disgust at the picture of my psyche.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Had kind of a nightmare.
I saw a Delorean in the parking lot and drove off with it. A few days later my city is having a car show that I always wanted to bring my Delorean to and while I'm filling in paperwork I realize that I just committed grand theft auto and that it's been a few days since I stole this car. I was trying to figure out a way to get rid of the the car along with my evidence. I could clean up everything and just ditch the car, but the show would notice the car still there and would have a file of my info and my photo linking me to the stolen car to show the police. I was also considering just driving off and leaving the car in the parking lot I originally found it, but everyone would notice the guy in the Delorean driving off. I was terrified because I didn't know what I should do and knew the police would figure out it was me and I'd be sent to prison. Woke up terrified.
Also it's bullshit that whole "You can't read in your dreams" theory, because I was taking down the license plate (which was on the right front wheel for some reason) and I remember trying to write down 4VUMR and messing it up every single time. The whole ordeal was stressful.

Had yet another dream where I get home from a camping trip to news that a Xenomorph is in the area and might pop out of a wall and kill you. Why? Why do I have these dreams?

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Most of my dreams play out in my head like films: I'm not part of the "story", I'm just an observer watching whatever fictions my sleeping brain can conjure up. Its like having a tv or movie theater in my head as I sleep. Its very rare when I'm in my dreams having stuff happen to me.
I had a super vivid dream last night. Let me set the stage: distant future, mankind has colonized the solar system. Earth is cyberpunk mega-city. Mars has been terraformed into a paradise world and is the new center of humanity's civilization. Massive solar farms on Mercury. Orbiting space platforms over Venus as terraforming begins in ernest there. Mining bases in the asteroid belt. Huge space stations in orbit over Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, with some bases and colonies on their various moons. A scientific research outpost on Pluto. The primary cast: a team of mercenaries/assassins of men and women that sell their services to the highest bider. They call themselves Geist, and each member of the team has a call sign like Ghost, Wraith, Phantom, Revenant, Specter, Ghoul, Lich, etc. All them were formerly employed by various governments as black ops agents, before they were betrayed or given up by their employers for various reasons, and were forced to go on the run, before they met each other and decided to pool their skills and resources together to better their odds of survival. While they carry out their missions with ruthless efficiency, they do live by a code, and refuse to take certain jobs or actions because of that. To an outsider, they may seem like nothing more than sociopaths in a tenuous alliance that could break any day, but the truth is they've grown to care deeply about each other though most of them would never admit it out loud. While each one is gifted warrior with a wide variety of skills, they do each specialize in something over their teammates; one is the best sniper, one is the explosives/heavy weapons expert, one is the best at hand-to-hand combatant, one prefers to use blades, on prefers toxins and poisons, one is the best hacker/tech expert, etc. They all wear high tech suits that allows them to camouflage themselves. Some notes of interest: as my dream played out, Geist went on various missions throughout the solar system, but they'd hear things on their news channels like how alien vaults were found on Venus, or a possible war between Earth and Mars was brewing, or a strange new element was discovered in the asteroid belt, or how all communications from Pluto mysteriously and ominously stopped.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I almost had a sex dream this morning.
I wanted to pay for Mexican food and opened my wallet. I had plenty of 5's and knew I had enough money to pay, but then another customer stepped in front of me and blah blah blahed to the staff, who in turn ignored me. I was upset and thought I should walk out, but really wanted to eat so I opened my wallet again and not only was the money gone, but it was empty of all contents. That didn't make any sense. So I checked my back pack. It felt heavy and full, but when I opened it it was completely empty. Again it didn't make any sense. So I figured out I was in a dream and turned to find someone to have sex with.
I darted to the back of the restaurant and grabbed someone and put them on a chair. I pulled down their pants but decided they were too small and shoved them aside. Then I ran down the street to the first house I saw on the right. I ran up to the door and thought, "I'm not breaking and entering, it's just a dream. I'm not breaking and entering, it's just a dream." I stepped inside and said "hey" to the three men sitting at the couch. All fathers. I said "I'm missing my keys" and searched the cushions of the empty chair and said 'I"ll go see if Tiffany has them in her room." Her dad said "Sure," and I ran down the hall. I knew since it was a dream that I could both make up whatever I wanted and my dream would supply it and justify everything around me if I acted like it was perfectly normal.
I looked at the three bedroom doors and decided which one was the parent's room and randomly chose one of the other two. Opened the door and turned the light on, a little kid stirred out of bed and I said, "Nope", closed the door and opened the other door. The light was on and Tiffany was laying on her bed in her t-shirt and panties. She was startled but then gave me a warm, "hey" as I jumped on her bed and started to pull her shirt up. Then I woke up.
Damn.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
What's the longest dream you remember?
I woke up this morning swearing what happened took place over several weeks. In it my family arranged a marriage for me, to a woman from another branch of our family I never knew about. I had no idea what she looked like, what kind of personality she had, or even how old she was, but everyone around me was relieved that I'm finally getting married and saw no issue as to how it was going to happen. Even a small part of me was thinking this is good as I had nothing else going for me. But the dream was full of other stuff too, other events I did as I prepared to meet her for the first time. I'd fallen asleep, had long days of work, traveled and so much other stuff I usually do in dreams. I'd say it was the biggest dream I've ever had, not in scale, but in time passed. I'd say the scariest part of it, at least the most nerve wracking, was packing for the flight to meet her and her family, as I was told to pack my tux. Surely we weren't getting married when we meet, I thought to myself, but everyone seemed to be prepping for some gigantic event. Of course that was the moment to wake up. Still can't shake off that feeling. It felt like such a long time has passed.

I had a dream last night.
This dream didn't even make much sense.
Like, okay it starts off as myself as Jackie Chan. Yeah, weird start, right. OK, so I am Jackie Chan under witness protection/undercover being kinda hunted down by Jeremy Clarkson. Except it's not either of us really, just guys with their faces.
So I get taken to my "workplace" which is a front for illegal activities, like delivering materials for building, food, etc, to people who didn't "deserve it" so I guess I was a freedom fighter all along taking needed supplies to other innocent people?
In any case a few of my actual IRL workmates were there and I am paired off with them and we go to our drop point. We drop off our stuff, which was oddly enough a Chinese restaurant and I get out of the car as me, just a thinner, better looking me. The "ideal" me I guess my subconscious holds for myself? Anyway I get out, leaving my work colleagues behind and go into this place and darkness kinda transitions over for a while after I walk towards the walk-in freezer, interspersed with a drive/chase until I end up at said random house with a bunch of other people, two other couples, one been together for a while and still are madly in love, one just starting out as horny teens and then me with apparently an ex of mine (never had an ex so go figure how I managed to get that feeling) who for some reason looked like/gave me the impression of being Meg Turney, and for some reason the dream then follows on from there with us two in these moving/shifting chairs next to each other just chatting and reforming a connection and kinda maybe falling in love again, even though I don't know how that feels in the first place, let alone to fall back into it, there is some innuendo, some accidental getting too close due to the shifting chairs, and the night ends with us kinda more curled up as the fireplace slowly dwindles out. Then we're awoken by the teen couple fucking and the more stable couple's girl cheering them on and then I woke up.
Trouble is the "girlfriend-ish" section was the most vivid and felt very real.
So real I was kinda depressed when I woke up when I realised I was back in this life.
Anyone else had any dreams that made you question something in real life?

Dude, a Meg Turney dream. Good for you.
Sometimes I have to questions things, it's incredible how you can experience something that you've never experienced.
I like how you mentioned your 'ideal 'self, or probably the you your mind sees, cause I have my image of myself too. It's crazy though when something I did in the past is present in the dream, like the year I grew my hair out. So the image of me is in a state of constantly changing. Anywho, nice dream.

I had a dream where my cat did something to upset me, and we were going to send her into space as punishment.
She was too cute though, so we decided to not send her into space.
We did sent the Snorlax into space though.
Fuck that guy.

Meg Turney was only the avatar for that because of my Twitter feed, IO think.
Yeah, I don't think about it often but the "ideal self" thing...I don't know what to make of it. I'm fine in my own skin and right now wouldn't really drastically change myself so I dunno where it comes from subconsciously.

@Maz, I get the avatar thing. Sometimes I have two people and their avatars are switched. One girl I liked switched with a friend and such.
Most awesome dream I remember having was a full on missing episode of Firefly. I was there in space, on baord as it happened. It was an action/adventure. Just awesome.

Interestingly enough your brain can't actually make up faces on it's own in the dream state. So every face you see in a dream you have physically seen and was worth enough to be remembered.
I do wonder if I can train myself into lucid dreams. The risk of sleep paralysis frightens me though, but I have experienced that a little.

The few times it has happened to me was because I knew something happened that couldn't. Never something big, like aliens stalking me in a barn or having afternoon tea on a vast green field with a T-rex. Always something small, like "Wait, I don't wear loafers," or such. Never heard of the sleep paralysis before and I don't know how those two tie together.

God Damn you subconscious!!!!
First you give me never ending onslaughts if dreams where I fall in love, only to rip me back into this reality, and now on top of that you're going to feed in dreams that set off my stupid "overthinking about other it" anxiety about catching vomiting viruses...
Fuck!

Had a stress dream where I spent an hour trying to get dressed.
I had a once in a life-time appointment with NASA at 5:15 pm, was dressed by 5:15; noticed I had on wrong shirt, went to change then I couldn't find my pants, looked all over for them, then my tie went missing, then one of my socks, then I was wearing all sweats, how the hell did that happen? By 6 pm I had finally put together everything and my ride had already left for the moon.

So tonight, my brain decided to make up for the fact I don't have many weird or intresting dreams, and decided to bring me a whole antology movie of weird shit...
First I was spending the night at the place of a (not-based on irl people) friend who also happened to be some kind of fish veterinarian, and had huge half-gutted sealife speciments all over the place...
Then there was a segment where I think I was larping as a Transformer character in a warheouse...
And finally I went to a party hosted by a cult, to save a girl I had a crush on that they had brainwashed and wanted to sacrifice. And I'm 90% sure she was Raven from the Teen Titans.
No. I do not take drugs or drink alcohol, why you ask?

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
@Alien, that was a great dream. Better than the one I had this morning.
Really this was a nightmare.
To sum it up, I was traveling with friends as Peter Dinklage. We were stopped at a restaurant where we ordered a frozen pizza. We were eating it when the townsfolk became suspicious of us and tried figuring out the last name of someone in our party. We knew something was up and had to bolt out of there. I was the last one out when they figured out the last name and started to warn everyone about us.
As I fled the restaurant, still as Dinklage, they started an aerial assault and bombed everywhere I was running. So I made my way to the forest. In an attempt to hide underground I found a hollowed out tree stump, sat in it and covered myself in mud and looked straight down as to focus myself and not move. I heard two helicopters fly by and then I heard footsteps. Not looking up I heard two children say "Over there", to a parent and walked my way. I stayed perfectly still as the mother commented how my dire situation.
That's when SHE showed up. I never saw here, as I kept looking down, but I felt her presence as the one who was going to torture me. I only saw her hands as from behind me she gently grasped my hands and put them next to a small, 5x6 inch set of thin metal sheets, about 5 or six of them. Not moving and still staring straight down she picked up my index fingers on each hand and stuck them into little sharp metal bits on the metal sheet. There was an intricate design and each time she pricked the tips of my fingers pain would shoot up my arm. She continued this, only with my index fingers, as she worked every bit of metal on the first sheet and then stopped only to proceed to the next sheet.
Tears streamed down my face as I knew there was worse that could happen if I fled. Ten minutes seemed like an hour as she tortured me . I heard voices behind me betting on how long I'd last, a day or two? I couldn't stand it now and wished it was all over, but she kept on sticking the metal into my finger tips. Like a sharp cut from a soda can. I wanted it all to end, I knew I was going to die soon.
By the time I got through four sheets of the metal I heard myself crying in real life and that's when I woke up. My finger tips were pulsing and I never felt so glad to be awoken from a dream. it was a real terror.

I have this recurring dream where I'm still in school and I'm about to flunk out of some class or other because I keep skipping it or forgetting about it. Pretty standard dream stuff.
However, last night I dreamed that I was about to flunk out of math class because Bakugo was the teacher. I'd be like one minute late and decide to fuck this because I didn't want to get yelled that.

While I still recall it, because my sleep last night was a clusterfuck.
In some giant underwater lab complex, each area being for its own "save the earth" plan, all of which are classics for actually causing the apocalypse. Me and some guy are put in the last one, a tiny little bubble off the main complex, with a little "emergency button" in a hole in the floor. So we're waiting, joking, looking out into the ocean, and then we look back and there's a zombie staggering around the main lab area, stopped by our door, and we can see everything exploding and falling to shit, and for some reason we know the surface is being atomic bombed. So we laugh, because of _course_ it was hubris and zombies, then I go hit the button to get us out, but it's actually a pill that does nothing, and inside the hole, all there is is a plastic bag to put over your head. So we laugh more and wait there to die, because hey, hubris.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I have for as long as I can remember had peculiar dreams. While some of the things that happen are obviously fantastical upon waking I have found that they follow stories. Arcs.
In that I will have a dream where a series of events happen. Then the next night or a few nights later that same dram narrative will continue. The longest of these lasted about a month and involved a friend from High School and I dealing with survival conditions during a long hard winter. Many of the details have faded from my memory in the last few years but it was a story with a beginning, middle, and end.
I've never really written any of this down to communicate it to others but I've always found it strange. Has anyone else ever experienced something similar? A dream with a fairly consistent story that lasts more than one slumber?

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Had a dream within a dream for the first time in a very long time. Was working a job, and for some reason, my second cat was there. Big ole' black and white tomcat. He was bleeding a bit, just like in real life, he kept our neighborhood on lockdown against birds and squirrels and rabbits and raccoons, so he got beat up sometimes. But he was there, as close to real as I can remember, 18~ years since I last saw him. Even had the white hairs in the black part of his fur. Then I "woke up" in the dream, still at the job, but aware I was dreaming about him.
I miss my cats.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
I was driving my car down a dirt road behind some homes after I helped a client trim her lawn and get rid of some major ant problems when I turned hard into the curve and made a wicked slide, which was pretty impressive in my Hyundai Santa Fe. Then down the road was the back entrance to the homes and there was a ton of garbage and trash on the sidewalk and in the bushes so I spent the rest of my dream picking up trash and thinking about how I'd take my kids out to pick up trash in the neighborhood one day.

I used to pick up litter in the boy scouts. It was hard wired into me and now has entered my dreams apparently .
A wholesome moment in a dream is a great reprieve from the usual weird shit that occurs. I had a dream the other day where I witnessed one girl cut another girl's head off at the neck with an Army Metal Crusader Cup. It...was...one of the most brutal things I ever dreamed. I originally didn't want to share it here.
I would say I have an even amount of horror, fantasy, adventure, wholesome, bizarre, sad and mundane dreams. They've struck a balance. Not enough sexy dreams though. Those I lack dearly.

Interesting. I can count the number the of sexual _moments_ I've had in dreams on one hand. Extremely rare, and brief. Haven't had nightmares since childhood, actually. Whenever I remember one, it's fairly banal, surface-level symbolism, with few exceptions. So, hey, cherish the variety, remembering one is hard enough, you get a buffet!

Absolutely, I generally am excited to go to sleep every night just to see what happens before I wake up.
Part of that buffet is locations, which is something I wanted to bring up today. Do any of you have recurring locations or landscapes? Do you have a mix of places you've been and places you haven't, or solely one or the other? Or do you have any One Shots?
A One Shot location I had once in a dream many many many years ago and I still vividly remember, which I still don't know if I've ever been to or not. It was a park, a large park with small grassy hills just turning yellow. Large enough for small kids to roll down and still have fun. The side I was facing was the edge of the park, which had a man made lake running along it's border, maybe 30-40 feet wide, which stretched from one end of the park to the other. It was dark green with ducks, lilies and grassy shores where families relaxed. There was a row of very tall trees on the other shore (eucalyptus probably, since I grew up in So Cal and they're everywhere so I'm familiar with them) and which ended at a long wooden fence where the freeway was on the other side. It ran north to south as I remember it being afternoon and the sun was just beyond the trees.
As far as I know I never been there before and never visited in a dream after. But the image is burned in my memory.
I have recurring locations like the house I was a teenager in and the looooooong street I used to walk home on when I'd missed the bus in middle school. That long road is usually associated with stress dreams as I spend all my time walking on it and never get anywhere.

So I've had another crazy dream. Dont' remember the details, just that it was some kidn of zombie apocalypse scenario... but with werewolves.
That actually sounds like a decent plot for a dumb fun monster flick.

Re: Dreamland - Where the wild, Crazy and even mundane and odd come to life
Sounds fun. I love dreams that have some familiar scenarios.
I had another one of these dreams where, to sum up the points that actually do make sense, I'm witnessing some show or movie that I'm also a part in, but I never see the ending to. In this one I'm with four women in this crazy fun anime adventure where I assist them from time to time to help them through an episode. The final episode is here and I get to witness the stunning conclusion, but because of other things happening in my dream I wake up super excited only to realize that the show isn't real and I can never watch the end of it.
Had a similar dream years ago about a missing Firefly episode I was in. It was epic, fun, full of excitement and also a bummer because it's not real.
