Okay I don't know where precisely to put this but this seems to be best.
So I am working on modelling a Quarian OC of mine ( seen here (Hooded versions album) and here (Hoodless versions album) and I have basically started to rework some of the design. Now I have a bit of a snag...the ears.
In the "Tali/Quarian face reveal" image, also known as "The Abomination" we only see the bottom half of the ear, or the lower lobe at best.
So, this is where I enlist your help, if I may.
What should Quarian Ears look like?
Also, here is an Imgur link to my progress so far.
BE ADVISED: I have basically gotten the rough shape done as of right now, most of the "nudity" detail will be in the face and once I am doing the suit stuff will be refined.
Also the hands and feet are "okay" as of right now but might get edited.
Oh, and the legs.
the leg curve is...difficult to get right.
Also, any thoughts, ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've sen plenty of face concepts, but rarely one that goes into detail on the ears. If you're not doing a human ear, these are the three main ear styles for Quarian fanart I've seen.
Elf Ear. Pretty basic, and based off the ME3 face. Best images I could find of it are this and this.
Double Ear. Not too sure on this one, but one of my artist friends favors it and uses it for art of his OCs. Best part is, he did a very clear side-on view of it.
Folds. Not really sure how to describe it. It's not dissimilar to the Asari ear, but it's probably my personal favorite. HJere's Udragoon's version of it. This styling is pretty popular, too. Alternate, harder to see, Variant, glowing and more pronounced.

It looks really neat! I kinda wish I could sculpt in 3D like that because I'd love to try to make a good Quarian face or two.
Lately, I've been working on something in 3D, trying to recreate the EGM mod's "hoodless" variant of Tali, but for the Quarian civilian. It's coming along, even if the geometry where the meshes merge is kinda garbage right now. Rear View.

I did see some of the renders on the tumbles.
But as for ears...
Yeah, I am of two minds.
I want something definitely non-human or elf...but I definitely want quarians to be able to tuck things, like hair or pens, behind their ears.
I'm definitely not going double ear.
Maybe something with a touch/mix of Vulcan and Vorta.
Also for helms. I am so glad I am doing my own, but I am not looking forward to modelling the hood/cloak. that's gonna be awkward.

1. If you had asked me a couple years ago, I could have perfectly articulated every single aspect of what I think would make for the "ideal" quarian look down to the smallest detail, ears included. But so much time as passed, that I've lost that mental picture and the words to describe it. And I've seen so many different fan art interpretations, I don't really have a favorite anymore; I'm down with many ear designs. I'd say take the easy route and just go through illustrations of your favorite sci-fi alien species and see if you can draw inspiration on that. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thank you. These ears are proving difficult at my current level of detail. I might need to go higher for proper ears, but for now the basic shape is hard to be done simply.
Oh well, more for me to play with.
