Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I didn't like the gunplay in New Order that much. The guns just didn't have the punch I wanted. Maybe it's because there were a lot of bullet sponges in that game. That's one thing I really don't like. When a video game is all "oh, he has body armor, that means he can walk away from twenty bullets to the sternum", I simply sigh.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Only thing I remember being tough was those bigger robot mofos.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
So, I read the Switch has a randomized screen you can get. Some come with a TN screen, and others come with an IPS screen, which is the much better screen, and again, it is random on which one you get. Also, people are already reporting dead pixels on their sub par screens right out of the box, and Nintendo is actually trying to tell people that this is not a defect.
Also, paid online and friend codes are still a thing. Nintendo, come on.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
How can you tell which screen you have?
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
The 3DS had the same issue with the screen lottery. Just look at your menu, anything that should be white. If it is actually white, then you have the IPS screen, if your white is off-colour like say slightly pink, then you have the TN screen. The TN screen still works, it's not a big step down, but the fact that there is a chance you could get either or is just sloppy manufacturing.
Hopefully this is just first-wave new console shenanigans, and later down the line they get their act together. Remember, one in every hundred PS4 ended up bricking when it first launched.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Finished Doom. I wasn't sure if the final boss would be who I thought it would be, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially with how it worked with the plot as a dark joke. Though one of the high points was getting my hands on a dear old friend, who'd never been forgotten. Good game. Did it on Ultraviolence because my dick is huge, ended up breezing through until the first trip to Hell, where some of the gauntlets got me. After that, I had the occasional combat death, until the final stretch, where they threw so much special ammo and powerups that my only deaths were getting caught during a Glory Kill. It didn't take itself seriously, which was good, and while I saw the ending a while away, the bit with who the marine actually is, that caught me off guard.
At times, it felt like it was a modern mix of Quake/Doom in plot and gameplay, really.
I liked it a lot. I have no interest in MP or mapbuilding, so that's that. But I'm glad it sold well. Did my bitter heart well to see a reboot of a classic get it right. Doom was a memorable part of my childhood after all.

Yeah, it feels a bit weird knowing that Mass Effect has been actively around for more than a third of my life.

In the end I had more fun with Wolfenstein: TNO even though it had something against my 7950 for whatever reason. D44M's gameplay was really good as was the OST but I think the MP, length and Zenimax's insistence on pushing the MP soured me towards it a bit. Maybe if they had put some more time into Snapmap it could've at least pretended to have it's WAD equivalent. More boss fights would have helped too I think, but that seems like a recurring theme now with most games.
On another note, here's hoping WIldland's launch goes alright.
Every time I look at footage of DoW3 I become more and more conflicted. It looks like they've tried to adapt the RTT and micro aspects of DoW2 and the older macro aspects of DoW1 but the art style, animations and tone seem out of place to me, and every time Gabriel pulls of his front flip I don't really know what to think.
Mite b cool, I suppose?

I must say that I almost was driven to pre-order just because of that retro PlayStation skin for the pod. Anything that reminds me of the good ol' PlayStation days gets a gold star in my book.

I am so guddamn worried abot DoW3. I can live with the more Starcraft-y artstyle, but gameplay-wise seems more like a MOBA wannabee, and from the interviews I've see from the developers their approach to the lore and the universe seems to basically be "It's Warhammer 40k it's over-the-top and exaggerated, we can do whatever!" which is why Gabriel, despite being basically an husk of his former self and the fact he's wearing the heaviest Space Marine power armor in the history of the Imperium can jump around like a kangaroo.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Whelp. Wayforward wasn't joking about Shantae's Hardcore mode being old school. First stage, takes me a good few tries to beat the boss until I learn the no-hit pattern.
Now the second level? 1 hit kill from a basic enemy. Ah, the memories.

I clean shaved (my face) for the first time in 2+ years.
Looks good. Jaw has much better definition since the last time. Though now I look like I'm 19.

It is time.
Today will be remembered as the day when the Imperium declared in one voice: We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Holy Terra Day!

@Dark: Big time. I have large eyes, pale skin, and a narrow jaw. Gives me a boyish look, which would work better if I weren't a 6'6" man.
@Drag: Wat. That's way too many huge events for one book. Thing. What is it anyway? But those rumors...that'd be a fucking huge shakeup. Plus the questions it raises.

Funny enough, same thing for me minus the pale skin and large eyes and I'm 5'6" so it works better for me, too bad I like my beard.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
@Rip: You are welcome to make the attempt, but my regrowing stubble might hurt your fingers.
@Dark: I have about 67% of the hair necessary for a good beard, so I'm stuck with about 5 mm of stubble as the best compromise. Otherwise, I'll look 30 when I'm 40, and there are worse things to have.

I've always looked quite young, not child like, but young. I like the beard since it gives me a jaw line, but it's too thin to do anything with so I can't have the manly viking bread braids I've always dreamed about.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I've been trying to find an old toy of mine for years now. I got it in the late 80's at my neighbor's garage sale. It's a super robot, like voltron, only it's made of vehicles or trains. It's not the vehicle voltron. I remember it being purple with futuristic, very areo dynamic tractor trailer trucks that turn into it's legs. I can't remember what the rest of it looked like, but I never knew what the whole thing looked like because I bought it incomplete. I must have been six. Does anyone know of a resource I can go to or anywhere I can start? Googling 'super robot 80's toy' is quite a task.

So, not to take from Vol's medical conflagration recently, I might have a liver problem.
Won't know until I go and get a stool sample tested, it might just be a diet issue or something, but I've been having issues.
Haven't been seriously drinking, nor been eating garbage, nor do I have any life threatening disease as per the military health assessment, but goddamn does this concern me.

Yellow means something's wrong with the bile ducts in the liver and pancreas.
Which means that it could be due to a Giardia infection from the local water, or IBS, or Hepatitis, or my diet is screwy.
I think it's a combo of the water and my diet, since I haven't been eating as much as I should on these workout supplements.
Which means I need to take it easy for a bit until my body equalizes, then surge forward with a better diet.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Seeing as we're on health related stuff I have some somewhat good news.
I've lost 4lbs.
Not much for 3 weeks but tbh it's good I am losing finally.
As I see it it was as follows;
Week 1: Tracking normal and recalculating.
Week 2: Altering due to results and stabilizing
Week 3: More stabilization and a little bit of loss.
So, hopefully I will continue to lose as the diet changes keeps happening and I fold more exercise into things.
I just gotta work on that motivation and continuing to go at things.
But that's more down to me as my motivation is super weird and sporadic.

@Sci: My hope is that by my mid 30's, this slow drip of new hairs is enough for a solid beard once I grow it out a bit. Last 2 attempts, just wasn't enough to pull it off.
@Mob: Liver seems real easy to mess up going by the warning labels on everything fun. But yeah, take it easy on anything hard on your body until you get checked out. Don't need you having a panic attack, eh?
@Mazzy: Hey, it's 4 pounds. Gotta lose 4 before you lose 40. But adjusting your diet, and not allowing "cheat meals" or "indulgences" will literally make the fat melt off you. You exhale it when it's used up, fun fact. Good start.

I've always had at least a 5'oclock shadow if not a beard since I was 20. Fully shaved my face for the first time in a looong time the other day.

I'm working on a beard for CONvergence.
Going as a Raider from For Honor to meet up with some Spartan buds. And settle some disputes.
Might shave it for the next day as DOOMGuy.
