Saw Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. So yeah, this movie has a ton of problems. I can totally understand if someone where to tell me they really disliked this film. Super messy narrative, some characters come across as very unlikeable, and a villain that is supposed to fill Thanos' shoes but isn't able to, to name a few issues. That being said, it was not without its good elements, and I thought it was much better than the likes of Eternals, Black Widow, Shang Chi, Doctor Strange 2, or Thor 4. I could see myself giving this a re-watch, unlike those other movies.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was surprisingly fun. I went in with low expectations, but I found myself quite enjoying this. Not perfect by any means, but well worth the price of admission. Blows the movie from 2000 out of the water. Humor was good, Chris Pine & Hugh Grant steal the show, nice to see the use of practical effects and on-location shooting, tons of references/shout-outs/Easter eggs for fans who have grown up with the setting of Forgotten Realms or have ever played a TTRPG. Going for a lighter tone here was a smart choice. While I appreciated the smaller-scale adventure, I would like to see a future film tackle something more epic like the Spellplague, the Rage of the Dragons, the Time of Troubles, The Bloodstone Wars, the War of the Spider-Queen, or any of the other big events from the universe. A movie series set in the Dragonlance setting would also be pretty bitchin', I won't lie.

I was expecting Biollante or Destroyah. Didn't think we'd see an evil member of Kong's species.

With his lanky arms and red hair, this new Kong looks a little like Chaos from Primal Rage or Lanky Kong from DK64.

This new Kong has glowing blue eyes. Maybe he's got atomic powers like Godzilla.

Can we please bring back Rodan and Mothra? Pretty please?

"The New Empire" is a subtitle I was not expecting in the slightest.

Moff Gideon escaped the New Republic, it's revealed he has a secret base on Mandalore, built himself a next generation Dark Trooper suit out of pure Beskar, put Beskar armor on all his soldiers, got himself 3 Red Imperial Praetorian Guards, has been cloning himself and planned on using Grogu's DNA to try to find a way to give himself access to the Force. Moff Gideon so desperately wants to be like Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.

A Shadow Council of Imperial Remnant warlords, including Commandant Hux working on Project Necromancer (Gee, I wonder what that could be? Retro-active storytelling to explain the whole Palpatine & Snoke thing) and Pellaeon who keeps telling the others that Grand Admiral Thrawn's return is imminent.

Grogu uses IG-11's body as a mech suit to walk around in.

Bo-Katan gets the Darksaber, and is able to unite various tribes and factions of Mandos to retake their planet.

There's a kaiju-sized ankylosaurus monster on Mandalore.

Apparently Mando suits can be pressurized completely so they can survive in space and have enough fuel in their jetpacks to breach the planetary atmosphere.

Din destroys all of Gideon's clones.

Big ambushes, big fights, tons of Mando vs Stormtrooper action.

Paz Vizsla dies but goes out like a true warrior, taking out whole platoons of troopers, firing so much his giant gun overheats, starts taking them out with his bare hands, then has a 1v3 fight with the Praetorian Guards, finally falling under their combined assault, but spent his last breaths with his hand on one of their throats, trying to choke him out as he got impaled over and over again.

Din and Bo-Katan fight Gideon, the Darksaber is destroyed during the battle, Gideon gets roasted alive when a cruiser crashes into his base in a giant fireball. Grogu saves Din and Bo-Katan with his Force abilities.

The Great Forge is relit.

Original plant life is growing again on Mandalore.

Din officially adopts Grogu as his son.

Grogu can sense the Mythosaur.

IG-11 is later fixed and rebuilt and becomes the new sheriff of Nevarro.

Din and Grogu will be doing bounty hunting work for the New Republic as independent contractors on a case-by-case basis, and have a home away from home on Nevarro.

Okay so I have finally gotten around to seeing Avatar the Way of Water and well I enjoyed it and I am wanting more from that universe.
However;

This universe, while fun, forgets how logistics works. A lot of the time we see stuff just being done and they seem to be throwaway to build up for something that we'll never actually see/we're not "meant" to see. Earth is dying being one of them.
Yet humanity is able to send a fucktonne of resources halfway across the galaxy on very long voyages to recover this wonder planet. And it is a wonder planet. First it was about strip mining the planet and no it's about settling...yet also not, but also getting aging ceasing fluid.

Outside of the main plot of revenge, family and learning to take a stand and fight back (again), the world is curious in the manner of how any of this shit is working.
I think we honestly need a film or two from the other side of the coin, or a TV series or something.

Hell TBH I wonder what the propaganda for the humans is like to make Pandora worthwhile.
