Oh no! Keep it away from the fantastic pork products you have, and those wonderful open sandwiches. And those Copenhagen hotdogs I've been hearing about.

The raw power of a black hole warping legions of suns into what is essentially a literal star road, like something out of a sci-fi space opera. Gravity is a hell of a thing.

I live again!
Beach-towns in the off season are a strange thing. Also New Jersey road construction crews are living proof that budget is not a significant factor in the speed repairs/expansions get done. A long, thin stretch of pure beachside McMansions for millionaires, still can't get their roads fixed in less than a year.
But, at long last, seems like work is finally picking up. Booked through next week at least. Fingers crossed I can make a few months worth of expenses before the economy blows up! Heh.
How y'all lads doin'?

Spring is struggling to show here, but we're getting some warmer days soon, and plants started blooming in the last week. My brother and mother get bad pollen allergies, so they know your pain.

Yeah, not gonna be fun when that bubble bursts.
Funny how beach-towns without all the people just feels off. Not a bad thing, just noticeable. We all complain about the crowds and the traffic during peak vacation season, but then it doesn't feel the same when you take them away. Weird how that works. Plus all the best restaurants are almost always closed for the off-season; can never get your favorite chow.
Doing good myself, visiting family over the Easter weekend.

New Regi form comes out in the Pokemanz Go tomorrow, think it's an electric type I've literally never heard of before. On Easter Sunday. An in-person only raid, with only 30 minutes to complete, and they all start at 2 or 5 PM. On Easter Sunday. Hmmmm.
A wonderful break from the zoo life! Fresh...whatever foliage grows in Denmark!
Might not burst, to be fair. Seems like the economic machine will grind along, belching smoke and grinding gears, while people frantically shovel coal into and ignore the screws and bits flying everywhere.
It is, I only get work at this beach town during the off-season, so I've never actually seen it populated, or 66%+ of the stores open. A few years back, we were staying in the client's house, since it was a _full_ interior redo, and one night after some cocktails and cigarellos, I wanted to order a pizza. To get a pizza delivered from what couldn't have been more than 3 miles down the road would've been pushing $40, as I recall. _Silly_.
And yeah, virtually all the restaurants, seafood markets, arcades, etc., are shut down until after Memorial Day. It's a fascinating dynamic, since I used to live a few minutes away from the beach when I lived in SC, and that place was open nearly year round.
Ah! Enjoy the family time then! Never realized how much I'd miss those family holidays until they stopped.

Been working most every day, making some money to pay off a little dept. Can't wait to start saving again. Having money to pay for new tires is different then having to pay for new tires and going out to make that money. At least work seems consistent. Economy good or bad, people still need groceries.
I'm nine pieces into my album, need 4 or 5 more to make it to 30 minutes. I'll have this album done for summer, then off to the next one.

Back from our yearly Easter LAN party. Played a lot of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance (not my favorite), Total War: Warhammer III and some Endless Space 2. It was a lot of fun and we had steaks two times, scrambled eggs with ham each morning and generally a good time.

Steak and Eggs is a great way to start a good time. Steak sauce?

Oh, all kinds of BBQ sauce and other flavors as well. I fear the steak was so well roasted and savory on its own that I just skipped them entirely.

Heh, I made peace with the fact that short of some breakthrough motivation for life, my chances of owning assets, and a home, is incredibly unlikely. If there is any inheritance, it'll be sold to settle debts. C'est la vie. I can at least appreciate the little comforts and joys while I have them, for as long as they last.
What do you do with a finished album at your stage in the field?
Up at 5:30, didn't get home until 7, spent all day in the sun. I think my brain is more baked than Busch's beans.

Glad you had a wonderful LAN party tho!

Well I have some bad news, put a load of weight back on so I have got to go back to counting numbers via an app.
Urgh.
I was feeling happy thinking I was managing fine without an app and counting calories but now I know I was awful. Now I gotta go back to the very limited way of thinking/feeling about my diet.
I mean I know I can do it but I just hated every minute of it...even if the goal is worth it I just....I hate doing it.
I can't even supplement with proper exercise until the hernia is fixed.
Time to be depressed again.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Mhm. Happened to me too. There's so much "poison" crammed into food, very easy to have a blindspot and get those extra calories in somewhere else. Giving up nearly all sugar for a while didn't avail much, because what I replaced it with was just as bad. Ultimately my best solution was to straight up not eat on my days off, other than dinner and maybe a light snack after.
Which was then counteracted by drinking liters of gin. Perfectly balanced.
My dude, you've lost a ton of weight so far. A relapse of a few (dozen?) pounds is hardly a major point against what's been accomplished, and once done, is much easier to do again. You got this.

Yeah Christmas reset me to my old normal a bit and I have had trouble going back on task.
But now I am back on I keep having depression spikes so...time to ease back into it.
Once I get the hernia sorted and healed things will hopefully look up, got a consultation for it on Sunday so mentally preparing myself for a bit of shame there.

Same thing happened to me first time I ever lost weight. Worked really hard and got to a nice 163, thought I kept the habit up, but a year later I was back to 186. Then I lost it again and AGAIN it creeped back up! Third time I really lost it fast and was confident I'd keep it off, but guess what? It's really hard, but when you keep at it and it becomes a lifestyle is when it's easier to keep doing. I've been in the 160's since covid started because I've been practicing for nine years.
You've done great so far, keep the app up and keep the spirit up. You're amazing for even getting this far. What an accomplishment!

I do a lot of DIY things around the house, so my expenses aren't that high. I lucked out with a low mortgage and inexpensive cars. Living Paycheck to paycheck kind of sucks, but it is definitely not boring. I have no idea what I'll be earning next month but I know I can go out and get at least something. Pancakes are a cheap food to make. So pancakes and waffles galore in my place.
When this album is finished (mixed and mastered) I'll pitch it to a music library. Hopefully my research is fruitful and I'll find a library that's 1) desperate for my 80's retro synth album and 2) gets placement. Then I wait three years. That's how long it takes to start seeing income from things like these. Hopefully by that time I'll have a bunch more albums and possibly even work coming in from other sources. That's the plan at least.
