I didn't like how it redoes a lot of the issues and arcs from the first season, especially concerning the whole Korra-Mako-Asami love triangle.
No real follow up on the Equalist issue. There's a non-bender president in Republic City, but beyond that nothing.
The Water Tribe civil war politics is done in a really dull way.
Korra comes off as very unlikable in the first half of the season.
The season is too long and drags its feet. There's a lot of things that could be cut, too.
Korra's evil Uncle is a very boring villain.
The Big Bad evil spirit Vaatu, the concept of a Dark Avatar, and that Pacific Rim-style ending is something that should have been saved for the end of the show, not its second season. It was done way too early in the show.
That all said, though, without season 2 the setup for the amazing third season isn't there, so I'm perhaps a little more forgiving then most when it comes to Season 2. Plus, we did get to see Iroh again, and that two-part episode that details the origins of the first Avatar is really cool. And the introduction of Varrick and Zhu Li. DO THE THING!
Seriously, season 3 is a blast so get to watching as soon as possible!

See, a whole lot of that actually didnt bother me at all. I agree that the love triangle was stupid, I agree that there should have been a followup to the equalist issues, and a few other issues. But none of that bothered me.
What bothered me more than anything was the absurd decision to not only destroy what the Avatar is, but destroy the way humans and spirits interact. I can only hope that gets fixed in the later seasons, but the coolest thing about the avatar was the long cycle of rebirth, the connection to the past, and the idea that this person allows humans and spirits to interact.
All that being said however, despite my disappointments, i thought season 2 was much better than season 1.
As of now id rate season 1 a 4/10 (i may go as low as a 3 really), and season 2 as maybe a 5/10 (which would have been up to a 6 or 7 if not for my major complaint.)
