They became outated and too easy and not as engaging.
Seriously other than nostalgia value compared with a modern game the 1st and 2nd Gens are pretty shite in terms of gameplay and features.

What obscure game was your favorite on any of the old systems? I loved 'Wizards and Warriors' on the NES and haven't met a soul who even heard of the game.
