Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Knocked out Friends Til The End mode. Was rather fun, but for Sky's mini dungeon at the end, which pissed me off fierce. Otherwise, Rotty is best side character, and her VA is like a less husky Rainbow Dash. Couldn't figure out what Sky's voice was supposed to be, but Bolo was straight up Anime Protagonist. So fully featured, 1/2 Genie Hero is a good dozen plus hours of gameplay, which is worth the cost. Got a physical copy of the Switch version, though I don't have one, just for the sake of support, heh. Need to go back and knock out the speedrun achievements, because I nearly made time on some of them without trying.

Anyone tried the new OW event yet? Was too drained tonight and ended up running through Risky Boot's mode again because it doesn't take much thinking.

I'll be in Florida for a couple days. Going to check out Hemingway's house. Any Cuban specialties I should eat? Only thing I know about are Cuban sandwiches, black beans and plantains.

I picked up Life is Strange finally, after all these years and all these recommendations by many. I wasn't interested in it for the longest time, because it didn't seem like it would tickle my fancy, and this was largely ignorance on my own part. It has a lot of elements I like; namely the quiet town in the pacific northwest with surrounded by some strange and surreal events. I'm not far into it yet, but it already has my attention and I can easily see why a lot of friends have been recommending it to me. I appreciate that Life is Strange actually takes its time to tell its story.
Also, Rachel Amber was at some point named Laura Palmer, I'm so sure of it.

Protip: If you're trying to paint ceilings that have decades of nicotine stains on them, 2 layers of an oil or alcohol based primer first. Always them. Always first. Christ.
Regardless of how one might feel about the characters and story in the end, what they did with it all is interesting and fresh, and I have to give them credit for trying a game like that and pulling it off. Atmosphere too. The immersive experience, however, hinges on one, very focal point.
So enjoy it! Worth a playthrough, easily, if you're into quaint, story-driven games.

Ok Amazon is a fucking nightmare to try to sell things on.
All I want to do is list a copy of the new Kirby game. I bought it, I didn't like it. I cant return it because i bought it from Target.
Making a listing with them is a fucking nightmare. After 3 days of trying to get them to reactivate my sellers account, I cant figure out how to list "1" as how many I am selling.
Anyone want to buy fucking Kirby? $45.00, like new, you pay shipping. Price negotiable.

Better off going through Ebay for selling secondhand stuff. It's a lot easier than Amazon.

So apparently God of War 4 is the greatest videogame to ever grace Gods green earth, and if you dont think so you are a goddamned fascist...
Sounds a whole lot like people talking about Doom 2016...
I'm guessing, in actuality, its aggressively mediocre.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Well, the standards of video games (at least the mainstream ones) have fallen so low that a lot of people are very easy to impress. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if that was true. Even if I liked Doom, I only played through it once and probably will never touch it again. It's a theme with me and games involving Bethesda these days. Haven't even bothered with the new Prey because it looks like a lobotomized man's System Shock with the most intensively boring gameplay I've seen in a long time.
Especially when it came at the price of Prey 2, which actually looked somewhat interesting.

Yes, clearly you arent taking this personally at all.
It had a really neat first 10 minutes! And then the game starts!

Or I didn't care enough to think about it. Doom has some good things, and it has some bad things. Like how it's fun to gut huge demons with the chainsaw, but everything towards the last part goes on autopilot because it's just the same stuff over and over.

Yeah, but Doom was very repetitive. Hell Knights or anything with large amount of health, whip out rail gun, minigun with unlimited ammo because I upgraded it for the rest. Super shotgun just for the hell of it in between. Most of the time, I didn't need the powerups because I had killed everything before I even noticed them.

Games have evolved for a reason. Don't get me wrong, sometimes you lose stuff, like in RPGs, but other times you actually manage to add a story or character to your mindless shooter.

They Doom had a story and told it but it was more subtle, but if you pay attention its their. They just dont smash it into your face and you can choose to ignore it.
And Doom is evolved from its former self adding not only new weapons but mods they change the weapons differently offering different way to play. Plus it had platforming which is a great improvement from the full speed running onto ledges or no verticality at all.
But if you dont think so thats on you and your opinion, and I bed to differ but in the end i dont care i liked it and thats all that matters to me.

That's like saying Super Smash Brothers has a story if you know where to look.
Yeah I guess there is, in fact, a story that exists somewhere but that's about as useful as a heart monitor that sometimes monitors.

Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
It was the fact that the Doom Slayer basically had the players reaction to the story elements. The story itself was intriguing, and had depth. But the Doom Slayers reactions was our reactions. Call of Duty was basically a shooter on rails, with the narrative shoved in your face. Black Ops 2 had some variation that affected the outcome, which was a nice departure.
Doom 2016 took all of that AAA bullshit and smashed it in the face. Looking deeper allows you to see all the nuances and throwbacks, and the gameplay itself was damn near perfect.
The naysayers just say it's a mindless shooter, exploiting ultra violence and gore for the dullard gamers, but they're not looking deep enough.
They did not survive the passage that preys upon the weak.
Edit: And the music was perfection.
