The gaming hobby store I used to go to when I was a boy, one of my favorite places in fact, went out of business in May, I just found out.

It's a little depressing. First went there to get Pokemon cards, fell in love with the place. Nerd stuff, all the board games, cards, dice, Magic: The Gathering, the standard stuff, but for little me, it was another world. Would go to the Magic booster drafts now and again, but I was too young and dumb to ever win or even play competently. Assuming my mother hasn't fully destroyed all my belongings I'd entrusted her with, maybe I'll find some of the thousands of cards I have such fond memories of procuring.

I guess in this brave new world of stress, cynicism, and mass market appeal, niche hobby stores have no place.

CD Projekt is about the biggest of the kind that still does it, and they get all the kudos in the world for it. God willing, their Cyberpunk game is a massive hit too.

Funnily enough, a few years back, before I was booted out, I had a spontaneous urge to play the entire Gears trilogy (Insanity). Good games. Though I can barely remember anything about them beyond the first one.

I'm getting my ass served to me on Hardcore. Best thing to remember is when you reload a weapon, to time it right so your gun doesn't jam. Oh, and I can't toss grenades worth shit.

It seems the statement already begins with acknowledging one negative, that I can't toss, but then brings up another negative, that I can toss, but my tossing is worth shit. Isn't that redundant?

Active reload is vital, yeah. Though it gets down to muscle memory after a point. Not perfect every time, but I don't believe I flubbed it more than rarely after the first game. Grenades though, that came easily to me. What is your trouble with them?

It's a double emphasis. You throw a grenade so poorly, you cannot even meet the low bar of "shit." Your grenade tossing value is worth less than the value of shit (In the waste sense, ignoring the value as fertilizer).

Great > Good > Average > Poor > Shit > "I can't toss grenade worth shit"

What is your trouble with them?

Most of the time it's me throwing them while in cover, where he'll just lop them behind his back instead of actually throwing them. The other times though I'll press trigger thinking that'll throw them, but they only fly when you let go. Then I have to aim them correctly. The problem isn't the mechanics, it's the player who's an idiot at remembering when to throw/lop them and when to release them.

Any tips on grenades?

Finished War of the Chosen and I liked it a lot. Maybe it became too easy for me because I was pretty much blessed with good RNG from the start, but I doubt it'll be the same if I do another playthrough.

I also liked the thing they did at the end. Very ominous.

Finally started playing Guild Wars 2's expansion, only took me nearly two years after pre-ordering it. It's a lot more interesting than I thought it could ever be honestly, of course doing that after pre-ordering Destiny 2 probably wasn't the best idea due to the imminent second expansion for the former, on top of War of the Chosen.

Also for anyone that played the original story DLCs for XCOM 2 that's currently playing WotC, does the integrated campaign option make much of a different in terms of balance? I wasn't paying attention at the time and didn't realise it disabled the introductory missions for both Alien Hunters and Shen's Last gift which I never actually played before.

I guess the biggest difference is that you can't do the missions to get XP. The Rulers also occupy different blacksite facilities and their reactions to your actions have been nerfed so that they can only do it if you make an offensive move. Reloading, healing, setting up overwatch and such won't trigger them. They also won't show up in other missions until you've attacked the facility they occupy.

You also won't be able to get a SPARK until you've built the Proving Ground since the mission where you can get one for free isn't available.

While I think the notion that "pure beastformers" wouldn't sell as well is silly and unfounded on Hasbro's part (if there's hard data that proves your assertion I'd like to see it, Hasbro), I did always like the "Transmetal" aesthetic season 2 and 3 of Beast Wars used when most of the characters got upgraded. (Especially Megatron's, yeeesssss.) So if they go with that, I'm cool with it.

If there was EVER a time to bring back BW Megs, it would be now. Watch your back, Primal!
