Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
Re: Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
Wasn't it overturning the federal injunction against implementing that while the merits of the actual case are worked through the courts? The result is likely the same once it gets to that point, but still, we have an election coming up and a lot of our nobility has a vested interest in rampant third world immigration.

Yes, but that's what I mean by it's in place until at least December. Even though temporary, this is tremendously good if you want to actually use the policy as a test case for anything. If Trump only manages to implement for two months before he is booted out, that does nothing whatever because a Democrat will just immediately undo it. Every month that it's in place and actually working (assuming it works) makes it harder for whoever comes next to undo it without looking like an idiot. The problem with policy by fiat is that the next emperor can just come along behind you and undo it. However, if the decree works and undoing it makes a huge mess, that's hopefully less incentive to undo it.
*Edit* Of course, the hole in this plan is if Mexico gets fed up with it and they start rejecting asylum claims out of hand just so they can funnel them up here. However, considering most of these people aren't actually refugees, I'm hoping that the closing of the loophole will either convince them to just stay home in the first place or else go back to old school illegal entry attempts. That still sucks but it's better for at least two reasons. 1) That allows us to unambiguously throw them back out on their ass at once and 2) Arguably we've actually gotten way better at policing and stopping old school entries what with drones and ramping up numbers of border patrol agents and such over the last 10 years.
Re: Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
I cannot imagine Mexico benefits from having the hordes trample through their lands, though sending their laborers up so they can send back our money is surely a major part of their economy. Their motivation to help is to keep us from fucking them with tariffs and shutting down the revenue stream Mexican migrants generate by siphoning greenbacks across the border. Ideally this new paradigm works well enough that when Trump wins re-election, there's enough GOP coatriders to pass some actual legislation. Pray that he does, because while "healthcare for illegals" sound scary, it won't ever pass Congress, but they will all but grant blanket amnesty.
Re: Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
I've actually changed my opinion a lot towards Mexico in the last 5ish years. I used to think being a hardass with Mexico was the only way forward but I'm increasingly amenable to working with them. For several reasons:
1) Policing a narrow isthmus in Central America for illegal entry is way, way, way easier than trying to police the entire Southwest border
2) Though it's horrendously corrupt and that keeps it poor relative to us, the birthrate in Mexico has dropped way down and that means there are increasingly fewer surplus humans they keep foisting on us
3) Working to raise the GDP per capita and general development level of Mexico is a lot damn easier than trying to do it for the entire global South
4) If outsourcing and such is a foregone conclusion, it arguably makes way more sense to direct this at Mexico than at an expansionist, autocratic state like China
5) Something like 25% of humans of Mexican descent on planet Earth already live in the United States and a huge chunk of them are citizens and that's just not going to change
6) Even if Mexico stays poor and undeveloped and keeps sending migrants up here, having to deal with migrants from Mexico is a small price to pay to get Mexico to work with us to prevent it from becoming a highway from the entire global South
A lot of those overlap, but you get the idea.

Listening to the Dem debate, all bloviating for votes, but it's pretty much standard MSM progressiveness. Blacks are precious and must be coddled, amnesty for illegals, moral duty to fuck with other countries, orange man bad, China yay, get rid of guns. Going to come down to Warren and Biden probably, but it disturbs me that half my country believes in some of the drivel they're saying.

Re: Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
When I saw the hashtags going for hours, I was reminded of how Ford's father had just throw her under the bus. Good timing on some juicy flak. Apparently the claim is that his cock was out at a party and his friends forced it into a girl's hands, however that works, and some people have vague memories of something like that having been said to them at some point. Clearly damning evidence. Also the guy making the claim is a friend of Chuck Schumer and an attorney for the Clintons, or something in that circle.
It's honestly a little embarrassing at how poor the GOP is at being actively malicious while trying to destroy the lives of people for political gain. They take it instead.
Edit: Oh, wait. https://dailycaller.com/2019/09/15/nyt- ... -evidence/
It was journalistic malice. The koi pond incident during Trump's trip to Japan opened a lot of eyes, but the entire estate needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

Oh no, the military man who does military things isn't PC.
Get fucked, shitbag. You spread them wide for the Neocons you say you hate. You encourage policies that keep the poor in the same problems, and you'd gladly sacrifice everything that the US is supposed to represent for the lulz.
You are the least deserving of respect. I take little solace that your taxes, what little you supposedly pay, pays my paycheck to keep little shits like you safe, while you enjoy your stupid little games.
Worst part is, I'd still haul your stupid, undeserving ass into a safe zone. All the while you'd still be a shitbag.
Keep that in mind as your boy takes money out of my paycheck and military funding for education on posts across the US Military for a wall that will not work.

So, onto more important things, this little scuffle between Iran and Saudi Arabia is interesting, especially since it was a Yemeni group, not Iran.
Seems trump the pussy is eager to jump in bed with one of his masters.
Reminds me of the WMD's in Iraq...of which there were none.

Re: Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
Thinking about incel rhetoric for a moment, the concept of men having to constantly prove themselves to keep/gain mates isn't a terrible idea. It's when men have nothing to work towards that we start tearing things apart. The issue is more that the standards of each gender are woefully unbalanced by the freedom of hypergamy that the internet has created. It is absolutely demonstrably true how much attention and companionship is given to women on the internet after all. Cannot cast a moral aspersion on it though, since it appears to be normal male behavior after the cultural castration, magnified. But the premise is solid, male self-improvement is a great way to channel our destructive energies.
The red pill is all about that self-improvement, and weird psychological tricks, to get women. Obsessively so. But it becomes a parody of itself with how hard they try to deceive themselves to find a partner. Doesn't seem a sustainable way to have a family. The assumption of the PUA sort is that the relationship market is tilted female and they can artificially inflate their own value to achieve whatever their personal goal is. Usually through clothes, working out, and whatever the fuck they're up to these days. Personally I'm more fond of owning up to your hobbies, getting trim and fit, and forcing yourself to exude confidence more than breaking yourself into a mold, but I'm not going to preach on that.
Then the incels have their black pill, which is the same as the red pill but without the belief one can really improve beyond their station. If you're a mutant looking fellow, that's it, no amount of muscles or money will fix that. Which is also demonstrably untrue, look at Weinstein and his list of conquests, to say nothing of all the other troll-like men who've done very well because of their station. But if these folks had a way of earning that pussy, or more likely intimacy as they seem to desire more, the entire belief system dissipates. There is no cynical outlook to be had if even the dregs of maleness can have a slice of happiness with a woman. Plus they'd also be given reason to enter into the cycle of competition, which is surely more useful than whatever they do now.
More and more I'm convinced a guild of artisan whores would do wonders for society.

I cant wait for the next democrat president, be that 2020 or 2024, to have to deal with republicans constantly trying to find reasons to bring up impeachment.
I cant wait for the democratic party to unironically act like they hadn't been doing the exact same thing during the entirety of the Trump administration.

UK's top court ruled against Boris suspending Parliament because something something. I'm not entirely sure what the layabouts who've done nothing about Brexit for years were crying about, I doubt they have any plans once back in session, but now they'll get back to work on it, I assume.
But remember, democracy's only good if it's what your rulers agree with. Otherwise it must be resisted at all costs.

As far as I know;
Basically every year parliament is placed on a suspended status called proroguing.
It is done every year to give time for the new parliamentary session to lay out it's goals for the future and so the queen can make a speech on behalf of the government. It's usually a couple of weeks, usually during the conference seasons for the political parties, 2 birds and one stone and all that.
That is how it's normally done.
This time there is a BIG deadline right after the proroguing period. The big Brexit deadline.
Now, this usually shouldn't be a problem as there would usually be a decent enough time to legislate even with a proroguing period. This time however the prorogue period is longer than usual. So much longer that it is suspicious. There isn't really enough time to put forth any deal for Brexit with this new government, nor is there the acceptance of NoDeal, having been made illegal just before the prorogue period. So it looks like Borris was trying to crash us out by basically running out the clock.
However, this is where the whole debate of whether or not it was lawful or not came into play. The government (ie the Torries and the DUP coalition) currently doesn't have a majority in the House of Commons, so it can not lead with the assumption of it having the will of the people and therefore can not say that it's decisions are for said people's benefit.
We also have the remainder of the house as a representation of their will of the people, seeing as they could outnumber the government with anything they wish to put across if they entered a coalition themselves.
Who is the true will of the people and if it is not the government then the Prime Minister could not have said to the Queen that proroguing for that amount of time was in the nation's best interests as the true majority of the house did not wish to prorogue and was willing to forgo the usual conference season in favour of Brexit talks and actually working for a deal.
So Parliament is going to reconvene tomorrow.
If there is a general election coming up then it's going to be a mess.
The EU could tell us we're out and wash their hands of it, but currently it's a standoff as neither the EU or the UK wants to look like the bad guy and they're setting each other up.
Basically business as usual in the UK and it's utter chaos.
We need to codify our consitution so shit like this is going to be less likely to happen in the future.
Re: Politics/Slapfights - Ancient history to modern day!
Pelosi's knuckled under to the progressives, going to go ahead with an impeachment inquiry. As is the case with this theater, and the incestuous nature of neoliberals/cons with the media, every last procedural step will be made a breathless headline. All fucking day, when the news segment of the radio would talk about it, they would frame it as, "Trump asked the Ukraine for information on Biden." Not that Biden and his shitbag son clearly were using daddy's office to funnel money, or the tape of Biden bragging about witholding aid money until a prosecutor against his son was removed, or the fact that the "whistleblower" complain was about someone who claimed to hear from someone about the call, no no no. Truth to power tho, that's why we need the media, right?
What is the plan here? Let's say this stunt works, they can demonstrate a high crime and get a majority in the Senate and throw Donald "le orange tiny man hands drumpf fascist nazi racist etc" Trump out. Okay, great, the Dems, media, and globalists flexed their muscles and deposed a president. Now what?

One thing the transcript did apparently reveal is how laughably inept Trump is at requesting a Ukrainian hack job, if that even is what he was asking for. It's hard to tell.
He wants Ukraine to look into "the server" and something about Crowdstrike and a wealthy guy in Ukraine.
Crowdstrike is a cyberseucrity company that uses cloud based, AI driver tools for threat detection and prevention. The city I work for uses it. It's not owned by anybody in Ukraine. It's based in California. And talking about "the server" in relation to it is inane. Being cloud based there are 10 gazillion servers. Maybe he thinks the DNC had a Crowdstrike server because Crowdstrike was the firm hired to investigate the DNC hack. But so far as I know, the DNC didn't use Crowdstrike (if they did they probably wouldn't have been hacked) so there is no DNC Crowdstrike server, other than whatever info Crowdstrike gathered on its own systems as part of the investigation.
Maybe he thinks there is an actual DNC server that got lost somewhere with juicy information on it, but again to talk about "the server" in relation to the DNC is inane. What server? The exchange server? Their domain controller? Some file server? Do they even host their own servers or are they in the cloud?
The whole thing is so confused that it's not really proof of anything but Trump's befuddlement and tech ignorance.

It's sad, because if the american left spent half the energy they put in their multi-year long temper tantrum into finding a valid new candidate for the next elections, and promoting him/her and a solid plan alternative to Trump's b.s. they would have won with extreme ease. But nooope, just call everyone who disagrees with you a nazi, and go on a massive multi media purge to fight Tought Crimes. That'll do wonders. For your opponent. I guess it's not just in my country that the leftists are their own worst enemies.

Apparently CNN, MSNBC, and NPR are taking the Ukraine phonecall transcript, cutting out the 500+ words between "I want you to do me a favor" and the stuff about Biden and his son's obvious corruption/money laundering, and splicing them together, then breathlessly running it on the air. Haven't seen it myself yet, but I don't doubt the yellow press has resorted to that bit from the episode of the Simpsons where Homer is framed for sexual harassment.
Edit: Here we go, nice compilation of a few: https://twitter.com/AndrewHClark/status ... quested%2F
Even Fox got in on it. Some might call it malicious and duplicitous, others might call it fake news, but I think we can all agree, they're first against the wall when the revolution comes.
PS: that's a quote from the Hitcherhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, not a threat or active plan.

So, so far as I can tell from various interwebs conspiracy theories, the thing about "the server" is in reference to some supposed AWOL DNC server which has information on it ranging from collusion between Clinton and the Ukrainians to evidence of cover-ups of political assassinations dressed up as suicide.
So "the favor" that Trump is apparently asking for in the stuff getting chopped by NPR is a request that Ukraine investigate patent nonsense. He wants them to find the Holy Grail for him. But that just makes Trump look like an incompetent doofus and isn't really an indication of anything other than the man's tendency to believe conspiracy theories. While that is hardly good for a dude in the Oval Office, it isn't disqualifying. So the explicit "favor" everybody wants to focus on is the stuff with Biden because that *might* be a "thing of value" under campaign finance law.
Nobody in their right might would interpret a vague inclination to look into the whereabouts of the Ark of the Covenant as a "thing of value."
That explains a good part of the pivot and focus specifically on the Biden issue even though in the transcript Trump seems to care more about the server.
They are also completely ignoring whatever truth there may be in the previous Ukrainian prosecutor having his investigation into Biden's son shut down. I have 0 idea how true that is or isn't, but nobody left of Marco Rubio is even paying attention to that.

I don't grasp why it would matter if he did in fact ask for anything from Ukraine if related to his duty as the chief law enforcement officer of the USA. This one reads to me, again, as nothing being made it something by dint of volume, repetition, and nefarious phrasing. Exactly like the Russia investigation. Which was rightly concluded as nonsense, but sold as "not exonerated."
Because if it is in fact a crime to try to investigate a political rival, putting aside Obama literally doing that since nobody cares about the abuse of the surveillance state as they all want to use it themselves, then that's de facto making it law that anyone running for president cannot be investigated, which is absurd. Though assuming good faith in the impeachment cry of the moment at this point is naive as fuck.

Having read both the phone call transcript and the whistle-blower report...
Aint gonna be no impeachment. They clearly jumped the gun.
They thought someone was handing them the holy grail, made the official statement, and all they got was a sippy cup spray-painted gold.

Uh huh. And because the right or the libertarian sectors, with their stealing from the poor, fucking the farms, mining in the clean water supplies, shooting up everything, and whatnot are totally sane.
We already live in a top-down Socialist Democracy. It's what keeps the US going, unless maggots like you keep dismantling the system.
The rich bitches want to accumulate wealth like mythical dragons, forgetting that the dragons die in the end. So can your "I'm superior" attitude. It won't help you when you can't drink the water, breath the air, or eat anything. That eventuality is your doing.

You continue to think of the US as Socialist. You are a moron Mobius. You will always be a moron because you cling to that delusion.
God I can't even imagine how you see the world. It must be a scary place.

As if there was something of value left in the American Right.
The only shame is that the US can't help but screw others over when their insanity becomes too apparent. That's why BoJo is way more entertaining than Trump to witness, because we have front row seats to his absolute incompetence and shamelessness, but he's basically harmless except for UK citizens. It's really like watching a train crash in very, very slow motion. I am sorry for the Brits who voted to remain in the EU, but at least the clown provides maximum entertainment and unpredictability.
Trump would roughly be the same kind of moron if he wasn't always on the verge of starting yet another war in the Middle-East and reneging on every single treaty that tries to avoid or smoothen an environmental catastrophe. The worst part is that, unlike Johnson, he actually is a moron, he is not playing the part of one. That should make him somewhat endearing. But he went full retard, and as Kirk Lazarus puts it in Tropic Thunder, "Never go full retard".

That hardly excuses the other side tho. It's like arguing we should look the other way if people get mugged, because at least they aren't being murdered. I have no simpathy for overly right-leaning consevators, of whatever country they are, but what does get accomplished by acting as bad, or worse, than them?

You astound me wi-No, you don't.
I've pointed and sourced the fact that the US is a Socialist Democracy multiple times. The fact that you are willfully this stupid never shocked me.
Just like when I told you that Nazi's weren't socialist and you exploded like a bitch. You refuse to accept the truth. Being this blatantly moronic is a quality you embrace wholeheartedly.
I no longer hope you understand. I hope you're buried like the rest of the boomers and forgotten.

So a year old but still in the Trump Administration.
