About what I figured. Pillars 1 had the nostalgia groundswell and the crowdfunding hype, was in the perfect spot to succeed financially. That and Pillars 2 moved to the shadier service to gather money. It was a better game too, but so it goes.

Currently? As of 8th edition:

--Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade destroyed Cadia
--The galaxy essentially got split in two from the creation of a giant Warp rift
--A new faction of Eldar got created because their newborn Death God partially awoke and she's their best and only hope at freeing themselves from Slaanesh, though there is a lot of mistrust and some civil war among the various Eldar because not everyone trusts the new Death God or agrees with their plan
--The Ultramarines' Primarch Roboute Guilliman came back; after barley surviving a series of traps and battles from Magnus and Kairos Fateweaver, he returned to Terra, spoke with the Emperor, and now commands the Imperium
--Guilliman and the some of the Eldar are ok with allying with each other on occasion because their goals of stopping Chaos align, and the fates of their species are intertwined
--A new type of Space Marine was created to bolster the Imperium's forces, called Primaris Marines
--The Imperium launched a 100 year long crusade to reclaim lost ground on the side of the Great Rift that still has good contact with the Astronomican
--The Blood Angels and all their successor chapters almost got eaten into extinction by the Tyranids but they got saved from total annihilation at the last second by a combination of the Great Rift forming that temporarily funked up the Hive Mind, Guilliman's crusade, and some Khorne daemons who killed a bunch of "Nids because if anyone's gonna mess with the Blood Angels its them and they called dibs
--The T'au are starting to learn what Chaos is, and Chaos is starting to give them attention in return
--Lots of factions are are very interested in acquiring/understanding Blackstone, which depending on how its used and what state its in, can greatly weaken or strengthen warp energies
--Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka is in the slow but inexorable process of evolving into another Beast/Prime Ork/Krork and wants to unleash the biggest "Waaagh!" ever
--Some radical inquisitors are trying to get the Dark Eldar to help fix the Golden Throne which is breaking down as they are the only ones who might know whats wrong and how to repair it; the payment they offer to get the DE to even consider helping is very grimdark
--Fabius Bile made an uncorrupted clone of Fulgrim, then sold him to the Necron Trazyn who added the clone to his collection

Calgar has been turned into a Primaris to heal his broken body. Because apparently you can upgrade regular Astartes into Primaris now. Here's his spiffy nu mini:



But yeah... overall I'm personally really enjoying how thei're moving along with 40k. At least they didn't need to destroy and rebuild the setting, and then take years for it to become any good again, like with WH Fantasy/Age of Sigmar.

By the by, I have been trying to learn how to shave with a straight razor instead of an electric one or "cheap" disposable ones.

Its going to take some practice, but I have purchased a sort of 'practice razor' that functions like a straight razor, but has replaceable blades. Its a super cheap one. I only payed about 10 dollars for the razor and 100 blades.

I bring this up for two reasons.
1: I wont necessarily say I am getting a better shave, I'm using a super cheap razor and still learning the proper angles and procedures, but its no where near as difficult as i expected it to be to shave with a straight razor. Or something similar at least.

2: Even if you didn't drop $200+ on a real, traditional straight razor, you can buy high end ones with disposable blades, like mine, for like $30 dollars. The blades last longer and can be bought in packs ranging from 10 dollars for 100 cheap blades or 20 dollars for 20 high end ones. All of which can be used at least twice, and the high ends ones probably way way more.

The worst case scenario is you get a much cheaper, comparable to significantly better, shave with a bit of a learning curve.

Hence why Mileena exists.

Apparently her new backstory is more or less that she was the one who killed her first husband and then hooked up with Shao Khan willingly, so she could became the de facto ruler of Outworld, and all the realms fused with it, from behind the scenes. Which completely fucks up the idea that she would put a magic protection on Earthrealm to avoid it being konquered, the fact she was so depressed and desperate she would committ suicide and that she begged Shao to keep at least Kitana alive to not lose her whole family.

But who cares, right? It's only the foundation of one of the original 3 games in the series, and part of the backstory of one of the main characters of the whole series. Can't have a character with a tragic and kinda fucked up story these days if she has a vagina.

Exactly. It's like they couldn't even wait the next game before rewriting all of MK's history. Even tho MK11 ends with the whole continuity being nuked, so they can start over as they want next time.

I've seen the pattern enough times already to know where things are heading. Oh well, at least the original MK series got a proper conclusion. Twice now, if you think about it.
